Maria Ellis

Maria Ellis is a 20 year old pop singer, songwriter and musician from Long Island, New York, attending Berklee College of Music. Maria's genuine approach stems from her sincere love of music and desire to make music that is as honest as possible. Her wistful voice and unapologetic sound attracts listeners of all types and ages. Preferring to be writer, composer, producer, and performer of all her own work, she is committed to making music that rises to the level of art. Maria grew up to be a fan of many genres, but focuses on Pop and R&B. Maria's style musically links all these genres together with an attitude. Citing Lana Del Rey, Kurt Cobain, and Rihanna as her biggest influencers, Maria creates music that is instantly likeable. Vocally, Maria's style is all her own, possessing great range, thanks to the help of her vocal coach, Don Lawrence who has trained the likes of Lady Gaga, Bono and Christina Aguilera. Maria's musicality is probably her most impressive facet. At the age of 6, she taught herself piano. And at 12, the acoustic and electric guitar. Now 20, Maria plays and writes equally well on piano, guitar and other instruments. Maria is a natural performer and is completely at ease in front of small and large audiences. She has appeared in many live venues since the age of ten, including performances at New York's The Mercury Lounge, The Bitter End, Cutting Room, "Save the Bay" Concert in the Hamptons and opening for Rick Derringer at the Riverhead Theater, New York. Hoping that others will find inspiration through her songs, Maria’s ultimate goal in life is to touch other people’s lives with her music.
