Maria Kheyfets is a singer/songwriter and pianist in whose eclectic compositions jazzy soundscapes of New Orleans mix with mystical romanticism of Pre-Raphaelite paintings to capture the heart of romance.
Maria's musical passion began when she began to train in classical piano as a
teenager. This influence continues to inform her current song writing,
which blends elegant instrumental compositions with haunting lyrical
poetry. Maria derives her influences from artists such as Leonard Cohen,
Jeff Buckley, Eva Cassidy and Norah Jones. Her unique lyrics are
inspired by literature, mythology and an ethereal imagination.
Maria
was born in Russia and spent most of her life living in vibrant,
culturally rich cities like Austin TX, Edinburgh and London, her current
home. She has an EP , 'A Million Little Moments', set for release in October 2015 and is currently previewing original material in London,
Glasgow and Edinburgh.
