Bio
Maria Benham is a singer of English / Spanish of every
genre. An american citizen born in South America.
Maria started on television at the age of 10, in Chile, her
native country. Later, moved to the United States, where
she
won 1st place at the California State Fair, 2nd place at
the
Sacramento TV Talent in California and 2nd place at the
State Fair in Montana. She has won numerous talent contests
as a solo and duo, with her husband, also equaly talented.
She just moved to Nashville, Tennessee where she performs
on
local TV channels with hopes to be discovered by a major
record label.
Maria has also won, at the national level competition in
Chile, for the acting lead role in theater, and
has won awards in poetry and song writing. Her other
aspiration is to to be an actress on televion or the big
screen.
Had the pleasure to talk to Ronny Robbins who has heard
"Return To Me" by his late father, Marty Robbins and
María as a duet, a reproduction using his father's
original music and vocal track. He liked this original
version and encouraged María to pursue the release of
this English/Spanish song.
In 2005, María has performed for audiences of Kentucky
and Arkansas. She has been invited again, to perform for
them in 2006. "Beyond this World" is playing on the radio
stations across the nation and a video of this powerful
song
will be aired in 2007 on GAC (Great American
Country).
