Maria Giuliani

Maria Giuliani

BandComedySinger/Songwriter

The bottom line is that I write lyrics. My particular comfort zone is in the range of adult contemporary/ folk/ rock/ pop. But I love music of all kinds, and I will write for anything that moves me-- any good song will need a good story.

Biography

As a child I would spend hours memorizing song lyrics; I would drive my family crazy with my constant singing; I would write lyrics of my own to no particular melody, and sing them into a tape recorder hoping to construct a comprehensible tune. Then I "grew up" and some of these habits took an unfortunate hiatus.

A few years ago, quite suddlenly, I awoke to an epiphany along the lines of, "I want to be a songwriter!" And nothing has ever felt more right. The reality of the situation is that I love music, and I love words, and I love being able to marry the two.

I am neither a musician nor a singer. I am a lyricist, willing to work with producers and musicians alike to create some unique and wonderful compositions.

The songs in my Audio section were all composed by Daniel Casavant. You can find more of his work at www.sonicbids.com/danielcasavant.

You can see video of Daniel performing our song "A Love Song" at: http://www.danielcasavant.com/VIDEOS/Live 2007_A LOVE SONG.html

Lyrics

A Love Song

Written By: Maria Giuliani (lyrics) & Daniel Casavant (music)

(1)
I’ve never written a love song before
I don’t know the words to use
Or how to describe this muse

Then, this senseless knowing
This essence of melting
Conscious ebb of my will
Willful ebb of consciousness
Embracing solid silence

CHORUS

Is it enough just to say I love you?
Is it enough? Is it enough?
Just to say I love you…

(2)
I’ve never written a love song before
And I know the reason why
Is a long and lonely truth

Now you breathe in my mind
On my eyes I feel you
My senses are confused
Used to hidden messages
The answer’s always in you

CHORUS

Is it enough just to say I love you?
Is it enough? Is it enough?
Just to say I love you…

(BRIDGE)

I’m standing in the future
You’re out there in the future
You’re a backward palindrome

This is how it will go
We’ll shake hands tomorrow
You’ll hear my eyes watch your lips
You’ll respond with our first kiss

(3)
I’ve never written a love song before
But I’ve found a way to soothe this muse
This something, this harmony

As my fingers caress
These words are falt’ring
Thoughts of unrest
Resting gracefully
From sunshine to sleep, I conclude

CHORUS

Is it enough just to say I love you?
Is it enough? Is it enough?
Just to say I love you…

Is it enough just to say I love you?

I think it’s enough
I think it’s enough
Just to say I love you…

Once in a While

Written By: Maria Giuliani (lyrics) & Daniel Casavant (music & lyrics)

(1)
FOR YOU IT WAS THE RIGHT TIME
THINKING ABOUT YOUR HOMETOWN
LEFT BEHIND

(2)
OF COURSE YOU STILL KEEP IN TOUCH
YOU JUST FOUND A NEW HOME

PICK UP:

TAKE A LOOK BACK NOW
TO SEE FROM WHERE YOU’RE COMING
THERE’RE A LOT OF CHANGES
IN ALL YOU’RE LIVIN’

CHORUS 1:

SOMETIMES JUST A LITTLE
IS A LITTLE TOO MUCH
YOU’VE GOT TO SHOW THE WORLD
ANOTHER SIDE OR YOU’LL GO CRAZY
WHEN YOU’VE JUST ENOUGH
AND YOU'RE LOSING TOUCH
MAYBE IT’S ABOUT TIME TO MOVE

ONCE IN A WHILE
YOU’VE GOT TO KNOW
THAT YOUR WAY’S RIGHT

ONCE IN A WHILE IN YOUR LIFETIME

(3)
SURFIN’ ON GOOD VIBES
SMILIN’, WAIVIN’ AND FLOATING
FEET ABOVE THE CROWD

(4)
FACING THE FUTURE WITH HOPES
OLD SOUL WITH A NEW SONG

PICK UP:

YOU MET A BRAND NEW LOVER
IT SEEMS HE’S THE RIGHT ONE
AND I CAN SEE
THE CONFIDENCE HE KEEPS

CHORUS 2:

SOMETIMES JUST A LITTLE
IS A LITTLE TOO MUCH
YOU’VE GOT TO SHOW THE WORLD
ANOTHER SIDE OR YOU’LL GO CRAZY
WHEN YOU’VE JUST ENOUGH
AND YOU'RE LOSING TOUCH
MAYBE IT’S ABOUT TIME TO MOVE

BRIDGE:

LOOKING FOR A PLACE TO FIT IN
IS WHAT LIFE’S ALL ABOUT
GOTTA KNOW WHO YOU ARE
OR YOU WON'T BE GOIN’ FAR
TAKE THE DEEPEST HIGHWAY
TO LEAD TO YOUR SOUL
LOVE, I’LL TAKE THE RIDE WITH YOU

FOR ONCE IN A WHILE
YOU’VE GOT TO ROLL YOUR OWN DAMN DICE

ONCE IN A WHILE IN YOUR LIFETIME

CHORUS 3 (2X):

SOMETIMES JUST A LITTLE
IS A LITTLE TOO MUCH
YOU’VE GOT TO SHOW THE WORLD
ANOTHER SIDE OR YOU’LL GO CRAZY
WHEN YOU’VE JUST ENOUGH
AND YOU'RE LOSING TOUCH
MAYBE IT’S ABOUT TIME TO MOVE

ONCE IN A WHILE
YOU’VE GOT TO KNOW
THAT YOUR WAY’S RIGHT

ONCE IN A WHILE IN YOUR LIFETIME
ONCE IN A WHILE IN YOUR LIFETIME
ONCE IN A WHILE IN YOUR LIFETIME…

Back to the Fact

Written By: Maria Giuliani (lyrics) & Daniel Casavant (music & lyrics)

(1)
I NEED TO FALL IN LOVE AGAIN
I JUST DON’T KNOW WHO, WHAT OR WHEN
THIS LITTLE, LITTLE SOMETHING IS HARD TO FIND
MY HEART’S GETTING OLDER

(2)
I KEEP SEARCHIN’ IN VAIN
FOR A BROKEN HEART
TO FILL, ARE YOU TOO?
OR ARE YOU MOVIN’ ON?

(CHORUS 1):

BY YOURSELF
THINKING OF ANOTHER WAY
TO FIND A NEW LOVE
IT AIN’T EASY
WHEN, BACK TO THE FACT
YOU’RE ALONE AND DON’T KNOW WHAT TO DO
YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT TO DO

(3)
AND I THINK I’M FALLIN’ IN LOVE AGAIN
I JUST DON’T KNOW IF SHE FEELS THE SAME
I’M MAKIN’ ALL THE RIGHT MOVES AND
READIN' ALL THE SIGNS
STILL DON’T KNOW WHAT'S GOIN' ON NOW?

(4)
DON’T ASK ME TO EXPLAIN
THERE’S NOTHING MORE I CAN DO, NO!
YES IT’S TRUE
DON’T GET ME WRONG

(CHORUS 2):

BY YOURSELF
THINKING OF ANOTHER WAY
TO FIND A NEW LOVE
IT AIN’T EASY
WHEN, BACK TO THE FACT
YOU’RE ALONE AND DON’T KNOW WHAT TO DO
IT AIN’T EASY

GOIN’ BACK AND FORTH
EVERY NIGHT AND DAY
ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO FEEL LONELY
WHEN, BACK TO THE FACT
YOU’RE ALONE AND DON’T KNOW WHAT TO DO

(SOLO):

(BRIDGE):

LOOKING FOR MY DREAM FILLER
SOMEONE TO BE LEANIN’ ON
MY DREAM FILLER
SOMEONE WHO’LL MAKE ME WANT TO GIVE MORE

(5)
NOW HERE I'M ASKING FOR LOVE AGAIN
I KNOW THE WHO BUT NOT THE END
A LITTLE LACK OF CONFIDENCE IS ON MY MIND
BUT MY HEART'S GETTIN' BOLDER

(6)
I'VE BEEN SEARCHIN' FOR WAYS
TO ALTER THESE FACTS
WITH YOU, ARE YOU TOO?
OR ARE YOU MOVIN' ON?

(REPEAT CHORUS 2):
