Maria Magaro

María Magaró was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. During her childhood, she lived with her family in Tandil, Buenos Aires´province, where she discovered her passion for music. Since the age of 15, she has studied vocal training, guitar, theatre and dance. It was then that she performed for the first time in “Astral Theatre” in Buenos Aires. She earned an english teaching degree, which helped her develope her trend to the genres of jazz, soul, funk. She started studying harmony, vocal performance and technique obtaining a degree in vocal traning & performance. In 1997, she was awarded a scholarship to study in “St’ Thomas University” in the USA, where she continued her vocal studies in jazz ensambles and performed in different events. She has lived memorable moments with musical groups such as “Los Saxópatas Big Band”, and musicians from all around performing with ever present warmth and expresiveness in prestigious places in Argentina: “Sheraton Hotel”, “Ferandez Blanco Museum”, “Centro Cultural San Martin” and abroad: “Royal Caribbean Int.”, “Celebrity Cruises, among others. In 2003, she ventured into tango style and was semifinalist in Pre Cosquin Festival in Buenos Aires.
In 2006, she released her first album called “Once in a Blue Moon” together with excellent musicians where they create a unique sound combining their latin background (bossa nova, boleros) with jazz.
At present, María Magaró is working on her next album where she will include her own songs. She continuous her studies by learning portuguese, brazilean music, dance and training with well known vocal coaches. She alternates performances in Argentina and abroad.
