The art of poetry and music are attributed to sing about love, life,
especially the evocation of the pleasures, Mariam Kon define in this
musical creation, the philosophy of wise people, the moral of her
spirit, the generosity of her soul, the riddle which tortures the mind
to better feed the proverb,
sitting under the shade of the large tree,
which recalls the time that
everything here happens as time itself - even Dakan.
This first album, a blend of Manding music area and Soninko-Fulani is a
production of KORE Sound, which is part of the program of support,
monitoring and artistic support of the Cultural Center Kore of Segou
(CCK).

Bio
Mariam Kone is a singer, author songwriter born in Kati, a town situated at 15 km from Bamako, Mali.
Lulled by the music of Bob Marley, Salif Keita and classic manding Mariam embraces very early music. By her talent, she shines during music lessons or any other subject in primary and secondary school.
After her bachelor in Language and Literature in 2003, she studied law at the FSJP of Bamako where she earned a license degree in Private Law. But her passion for music earned her to join the famous hip hop band from Kati Pacifique, with whom she made two albums (La vie 2007, and La paix 2010).
In 2006 she
was admitted at the Conservatoire des Arts et Mtiers Multimedia of Bamako
where she earned a Master of Music in June 2011. She teaches since October 2011
as assistant teacher at the conservatory.

In 2007, Mariam Kone participated to Fusion Arts Exchange in music composition and performance in Boston, MA (USA). The program was grouping 19 young musicians from six
countries including Mali, South Africa, India, Ireland, Brazil and the U.S.
hosts, the program led them to New York and Washington DC and the young artists was offered some live performances.
In April 2008 she traveled to Paris (France), as part of the same program. Mariam Kon performed then at the Theater of Sartrouville and at the UNESCO Headquarter in Paris.
From April 6th
to May 16th, 2010 she participated to an exchange study trip in Denmark
at the Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus, the second largest city after
Copenhagen.
From the 22nd August to the 2nd September 2010 she took part
to "Aarhus Festuge" a music festival in Aarhus, Denmark with the
Royal Academy of Music.
From September 8th to 16th, she travels to Spain with "Tchi Denw" a band composed by the students from the Conservatory of Bamako (two concerts in Palma de Mallorca, a concert in Madrid Alcorcon), http://www.youtube.com/user/TCHIDENW; http://www.facebook.com/pages/Tchi-Denw-Mali/
Mariam took part to an album by Tchi Denw in 2012.
From the 5th
to 11th February 2011, Mariam has participated as a singer at the
World Social Forum in Dakar with the multidisciplinary show "Taama"
on an original idea by Aminata Dramane Traor, former Minister of Culture of
Mali, with Souleymane Koly Koteba of Abidjan as artistic director.
Participation
in a musical and literary project "Femmes en choeurs" initiated by
Aminata Dramane Traore, who casts a critical eye on social, political, economic
and environmental problems. This project currently underway will culminate in
the release of an album and the publication of a book.
From 12th
February to 3rd April 2011 exchange study trip in Denmark at the
Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus, the second largest city after Copenhagen.
From 3rd
to 13th April 2011 she participated in the Glomus Camp (Global
Network in Music) in Ghana, with musicians from Mali, Denmark, Norway, Finland,
Sweden, USA, Ghana, Nigeria, South Africa, Mozambique, Tanzania, Palestine,
Syria, Afghanistan etc...
Mariam Kone is the winner of a music competition "Les talents de la cit" 2012 edition organised by Smarts Sgou and Festival sur le Niger."
