Debut album ‘Demons’ Available now:
The Album is a catalogue of sounds reflecting on Mariano’s life experiences in the UK combined with the influence of South American pop/rock music. Topics wander from broken and mended relationships, distant images of sunny South America and even the dangers of falling into a daily routine. Mariano didn't have a preconceived language, sound or musical style to aim for at the beginning of the project. This was mainly to ensure that the final result was as genuine as possible to his mood and ideas: ‘inspiration came from the most obvious and simplest things of life. From a long-term relationship falling to pieces, to somebody's eyes in a bar in town, fact and fiction are mixed to create each of the tracks’.
Conceived at his place (converted into a small home studio) in north London, three months of little contact with the external world, and ‘Demons’ was created: Rock Beats (Caramelo); Downtempo Trip-Hop (Fear);Bossa sang in Spanish and Electro Beats (Sambita & So Wrong) are part of the eight track list that makes the intense sound of this debut album.
The original songs were transformed into the final product by London-based producer Erik Aldrey (Le Pico, Amigos Invisibles, Tom Vek, Saraba Soul, Superthrillers).Collaborations on the album are diverse: from live to programmed drums by Javier Weyler (Stereophonics) and New York musician Seth Mowshowitz (Mujaji) respectively, to some bass guitars by the guys from Le Picó.

‘Bio’
Mariano was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and left the country at an early age to move with his family to Venezuela. Its there in Caracas where his music career starts, playing in a few local bands. In 1994 alongside Octavio Suñe and Juan Pablo Solari, Mariano founds "La Nave" which went successfully through the radio stations and charts. La Nave was signed to Universal Records and a couple of albums were released. The band subsequently toured the main cities of Venezuela. Today, more than 10 years later, songs from La Nave are still heard in radio programs on mainstream stations in Venezuela where they have become some sort of ‘cult band’
The new millennium brings a different life for Mariano, he moves to London in pursuit of further experiences, not necessarily related to music. In effect, all music activities came to a halt until 2007, when he is invited by Javier Weyler (Stereophonics) to participate on his solo project "Capitan Melao". Together they performed a number of times, including a concert at the Barbican Theatre in London, within "La Linea" Latin festival. Later on that year, two more concerts were given in Venezuela to popular acclaim in December 2007.
This was the trigger of it all, enthusiastic about being on stage again Mariano decides to spend some time composing his debut album as a solo artist.
‘Influences’
Mariano’s music is the result of a very diverse exposure to a wide range of musical styles. Classically trained when he was a kid, then he grew up listening to a lot of south american rock / pop like Gustavo Cerati, Soda Stereo, Charly Garcia, Fito Paez, and then moving on to electro / rock mainly from the glam brit era, like Pulp, Stone Roses, Charlatans, etc. Other Bands and artists that have influenced Mariano, are Beck, Air, Arcade Fire and Broadcast. Brazilian music has had its way through Mariano’s compostitions as well, if just in a limited amount (Bossambits), him being a fan of Chico Buarque, Cartola, Joao Gilberto amongst others.
