”Rescue me is a moving and deeply resonant song. As well as a wonderful name, Marie Glad has this pleasant vibe saturating her music that I wish to return to.”
- Groove (Sweden's largest music magazine, 05/2009)
"Rescue Me feels like a first hand choice during a summer trip. Elegant, beautiful and charmingly dreamy."
- Per Olsson at Scanorama
”Beautiful, a mysterious voice set to minimalist music.”
- Mats Guldbrand at dagensskiva.com (2009-05-24)
”Consistent and impressive album that contains both quiet ballads and revealing suggestive tunes with indie-pop character – songs that take off as intimate whispers and departure as emotionally turbulent strong waves.”
- Musikindustrin
”A complete set of smart and powerful songs. Her pleasurable music balances between pop and jazz at moments resembling Emmylou Harris. Marie Glads powerful and distinct voice is the greatest feature of this album since it lifts the music to a higher level at the same time as it adds a dash of strong charisma.” - Smålands-Tidningen

Bio
'Intriguing, sensual and rich in depth'.
Marie Glad is working on a new feeling. A collection of bedroom stories, heartbeats and new collaborations. In the borderland between pop and electro. The first part of the triology Bedroom Stories will be released in December 2010. The second and third part will be released in 2011.
With a deep, resonant voice and vivid melodies, Marie Glad takes us on an unforgettable journey through life and love on her remarkable debut album, Rescue Me.
From the quiet determination of Strange Love to the wistful yet upbeat All Fools Are Kings. From the hauntingly melodic Rescue Me to the searing refrain of the balladlike Lucky Star - these are songs written from the heart that live on in the memory, as much for their lyricism as their raw honesty. Powerful stories born of experience. In the words of Songbirds, “The truth has no disguise”- something that Marie Glad probes unflinchingly.
The debut album Rescue Me was released October 13, 2009.
Influences: Feist, PJ Harvey, Kate Bush, Jónsi, Joni Mitchell, Björk, Sophie Zelmani.
