If it was food it would be full of spices, If it was a drink it could be bourbon, If it was a dress it would be full with beads, glitter and feather and If it was a feeling it would be the day after you had the most incredible sex...

Biography

Mariela is a singer -songwriter based in London. She was born in Athens, Greece where she still lives. Her first contact with music was when she was only a few months old and started strumming her grandfather's lute and violin. Those were also the first instrument she learned to play. Music, dance and painting lessons followed. Apparently, love for art in its various forms seems to have played an important role in her life. She started music lessons at the age of 5 and was considered a child prodigy. In 2003 she got her diploma in classical piano studies from the National Conservatory. She also plays 9 more musical instruments. As a singer-songwriter she has performed live in Greece and also in other countries such as England, France and Belgium. In 2009 she took her degree in drama studies from the Athens Conservatory and took part in theatrical plays and TV series. In 2010 she published her first poetry book titled "Music for shipwrecks", a book highly acclaimed both from book critics and public. She is also writing her second book and completing her academic studies in Conservation of Antiquities and Works of Art.

Lyrics

You Are

Written By: Mariela Papadea

You are
You are the kingdom in my sea
You are the window from which I see
You are a child that has no guilt
You are my last memory

You are

You are my love, you are my love
Ooohhhhhh…. Ohhhh…….
Hear me call

You are a dream, the light on the street
And I’m a tear that’s running through your eyes
I’m lost without you I can’t deny
You’re here for sometime
You are the light

You are… you are…
Ooooohhhh…. Ooooooohhh…
Hear me call

Because
You are
Because
You are

You’re so far, I can’t see your face no more

Because you are….

Dynamite

Written By: Mariela Papadea

Love me, because I’m here for you
And kiss me, because you’re mine
Through your eyes, there’s a light
Through your eyes, there’s a fight
I don’t want to let go
I don’t want to let go

Dynamite
In your heart’s burning delight
Dynamite

Touch me, because I want you to
And kill me, with your desire

Through your eyes there’s a light
Through your eyes there’s a fight
I don’t want to let go
I don’t want to let go

Dynamite
In your heart’s burning delight
Dynamite

The long birds, are falling
The night stands, before me

Waiting for your love

Dynamite
In your heart’s burning delight
Dynamite

Cabaret

Written By: Mariela Papadea

In the cabaret, I was sleeping with the ghosts
Red lipstick’s on and that old record spinned along
In the cabaret, on its walls I’ve hung your clothes
Your scent still fills the room and your steps are curved on the floor

In the cabaret I kept waiting by the phone
The velvet curtains closed and I was all alone
In the cabaret I kept singing that same French song
“dans le cabaret, tu m’ as oublie…”

In the cabaret, people laughing with no sound
Waltzing chairs around and cigarettes on the floor
In the cabaret, cats are running up and down
Licking my past wounds, scratching my new (oh!) what a sound

In the cabaret, I was sleeping with the ghosts
In the cabaret, on its walls I’ve hung your clothes
In the cabaret, I kept waiting by the phone

Dans le cabaret, tu m’as oublie
Dans le cabaret, il m ‘a oublie
Et le temps qui reste, c’ est le temps passe
