Bio
Marie Martens toured Europe, Japan and home country Sweden and appeared on a number of recordings before relocating to the US in late 2005. Teaming up with Looper on guitar and harmonica and drummer JB, Mississippi Overdrive is a new fresh addition to the Midwest's music scene. Performing the legacy of immortal blues heroes as well as high quality originals delivering rough and intense blues and blues based rock (or rock based blues if you will) inspired by greats like Hound Dog Taylor, Mississippi Fred McDowell, Jimi Hendrix and Elmore James. Together they create a hot mix of originals and rejuvenating takes on tunes of blues masters and rock heroes of the past.
