Bio

Marième Ndiaye was born in Quebec and raised specifically in Limoilou.

Since 2003, Marième is a singer and member of CEA, considered local heroes in their hometown of Quebec city.
They have been performing together for the last 10 years and released 3 albums . Their first record, the funkyfied C’est ça le fun in 2006, Coin Strasbourg in 2009 and Les Nuits Gainsbouriennes in 2010.

CEA (wich stand for Corps et Âme, Body and Soul) is associated with fun , dance and wild celebrations. The group have been touring in Canada, France and Senegal.

Since the release of her first solo album in may 2011, Marième is on a roll and the album was critically acclaimed.
The album Marième is neither more nor less than a block party on tape. Sun, colors and fresh air all the way ... . She sings of love, dream and even revolution on riddims, beats, short of real music . Clearly inspired by Reggae (Roots and Modern), the riddims produced draw all their power in his use of Drums 808, and the use of exotic percussion. Mandolin, kora, guitar, flute, keyboards and synthesizers to create hymns in tune with the sounds of the youth of yesterday and today, here and elsewhere. Also, the musical world of Marième widens up to Electro, Hip Hop and Pop, but still retaining a touch organic and authentic approach.Marième detonates, rocks and enchants when she talks about her hometown Quebec and Senegal. Moreover, sources range from Africa (Tiken Jah Fakoly) to Europe (France Gall) and finally Quebec (Jean-Pierre Ferland) with versions of her own.

On the other hand, Marième is very active in television in Quebec. She used to host de Hip Hop show on channel MuchMusic for 2 years, in addition to being a cultural journalist at Vox and CBC .

She's been choose as the spokesperson of The French Language World Forum based in Quebec City on July 2012 She'll be in charge of the youth part of the Forum wich is mostly networking, video and promotion of the french.
