Marimba Mama is a Czech-American-Canadian ensemble based in Prague. Founded 2008 by Juan Mortimer - famous conga drummer, songwriter, filmmusicwriter and ethnomusicologist...
Featuring a unique instrumental line-up:
three marimbas (traditional African wooden “xylophones” scaled from alto and alto-tenor to bass) accompanied by various drums & percussion from around the world (drumset, conga, djembe, cajon, shekere), vocals and melodic instruments (clarinet, saxophone,
and trumpet) .
