Bio

Italian singer-songwriter, Marina began writing songs and playing the guitar when she was fourteen years old.
In 1993 she attended the “Music Reading Method by Goitre” given by the “Armonia” Vocal Group and won the “Human Life Wonder” European Contest for students organized by the “Movimento per la vita”.
Since 1993 Marina has been singing and playing acoustic guitar in various local groups such as “Nove in Italiano”, in which she sings Italian songs and “Tin Fizz Acoustic Cocktail”, in which she performs classics by The Beatles, Janis Joplin, Tracy Chapman, Carol King, etc.
In December 1998, at a tribute to Lucio Battisti held at the “Villani Theatre” in Biella, Marina sang a highly applauded version of “Aver paura di innamorarsi troppo”.
In 1996 she took private singing lessons from Marco Farinella, who graduated from the Lichtenberger Institut für Gesang und Instrumentalspiel in “Gisela Rohmert Functional Voice Method”, and more recently she has taken private lessons at the “Voiceland Vocal Laboratories” where her teacher was Paul Rosette, who graduated at the “Vocal Institute of Technology” in Los Angeles, and who has worked with world-famous stars such as Mina, Celentano and Eros Ramazzotti amongst others.
In 2003 she sang “In my dreams”, a song written by the Melody Makers included in the soundtrack of Dario Casetti’s short film “Come mi immagini”, which was presented at the 2003 “Torino Film Festival”.
Since 2004 she’s fronting the rock and soul band “Soulful Numbers” singing classics by Aretha Franklin, Eva Cassidy, Janis Joplin, Mavis Staples and more.
She also pays tribute to Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday singing a few jazz standards.
