Bio

“Music s life”. Here is the motto which always marked Mario’s life. An immense, all pervading love for music, that “always gives, and nothing steals”.

He has been playing piano since his earliest childhood, but begun seriously studying music a few years later, during his secondary school. In the following years he discovered music of his time, mostly by the great rock bands of the Seventies, the Eighties ad the Nineties, and joined some cover-bands, performing at the keyboards, until, in the last decade, he dedicated himself to singing.
He had a number of musical experiences (such as the Ariccia and Castrocaro pop music festivals, etc.), but the one which left in him the most important mark is the production, with the band “II Fondazione” (Foundation Two), of the CD “Viaggio” (the Trip), a concept album whose songs were sung by himself, and music was composed and played by himself, by guitarist Guido Festa and by drummer Stefano Festa (bass guitar was played by Pietro Bevilacqua). Lyrics were written by Giuseppe Riccardo Festa. After performing for ten years at piano-bars and at public events in northern and central Italy, and as the lead singer of “Mr. Bug” (a tribute band to mythical “Mr. Big” band) now he cooperates with other Italian musicians, always exploring pop and rock music, by composing scores for piano solo as well as for piano and orchestra.

By now, at 33, he has reached to a significant artistic development, partly due to his working side by side with high-ranking Italian arrangers, producers and musicians: his encounter with audio and mixer technician Roberto "Ribbè" Rossini and producer Fabio Linfozzi (Macs Records), led to the production of a single, called “Guarda me” (The effort of living), which will be followed, within 2011, by a new disc, to which a number of important musicians will participate. The characteristics of Mario’s voice, his style, the sound and melodies of his songs, far from belonging to the average standard of current Italian production, have a strong affinity with American songwriting, so much so as to raise the attention of the worldwide famous “popera” singer Romina Arena from Los Angeles, with whom he is currently working
