The Marion Brothers Band

Combining the melodic songwriting sensibilities of the Police and John Mayer, the rock-guitar chops of Led Zeppelin and The Rolling Stones, and the live performance energy and spontaneity of the Dave Matthews Band and U2, The Marion Brothers Band has quickly gained fans all across Southern California and beyond.

The Marion Brothers Band began performing regularly in early 2006, when songwriter/vocalist/guitarist Mike Marion and brother Richard (bass/backing vocals) tired of only playing once a year at a party or battle-of-the-bands. Joined by guitarist The Chemist (Mike Thompson) and drummer Mr. Meza (Mike Meza)—their true identities concealed due to there being far too many Mikes in the band—the four friends set out to play around their native Orange County, soon expanding their focus to the L.A. scene.

Since then, The Marion Brothers Band has performed with such national touring acts as Tyler Hilton (One Tree Hill, Walk the Line), Josh Kelley, Alex Band (of The Calling) and Joe Bonamassa, as well as completed two tours of their own (covering 14 states). The band has nearly sold out the initial printing of The Marion Brothers Band EP (produced by Drew Shirley of Switchfoot) solely through shows and the Internet. Thanks to a sizable MySpace presence of close to 20,000 friends, The Marion Brothers Band garners hundreds of plays per day, and has a highly read blog, which has allowed the band to develop a close relationship with its fans all over the world.

Recently, The Marion Brothers Band has regularly been drawing crowds in L.A. at such famed clubs as The Knitting Factory and The Mint. The band has also sold a combined 500 tickets in its three appearances at The Coach House in Orange County.
