"review, Home to Home"

Ms. Walsh... performs with passion. She has a unique style. Those like me who are used to music that pretty much categorizes itself rom the first 8 bars will find a great amount of joy in the songs Marion crafts, and will know (from those first few bars) that she is a truly independent spirit with a real gift for singing and playing about life and the living! I really like this album... I rate ia a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for sensitive/aware listeners of all genre persuasions - Improvijazz Nation

"review, Home to Home"

This lady can sing, sing, sing, and then sing some more. Plus she plays several instruments on this album ilke very few have the talent to do. Marion Walsh is as fresh as a new box of Tide. Her new CD is just packed with great music. The production on the CD is excellent and the words to her music will take the listener on a ride of a lifetime. Maion sings with so much conviction she should be convicted for affecting the hearts of all who listen to this new music. A sparkling release. - Roots Music Review

"review, Home to Home"

Vocally the woman is insanely gifted and when you add to that the talents she possesses on harmonica, guitar, and mandolin, you've got one musical soul that heaven let escape for a little while so we could all enjoy her blessings.... soulful and honest... - Smother.net

"review, Home to Home"

On 'Home to Home" Walsh presents some great folk, Americana, country and roots sounds. I liked the variety in themes, moods, and vocal styles as well as the music... clearly Walsh is a multi-talented artist.. - The Critical Review

Bio

The first music Marion remembers hearing is barbershop quartet music. Her father was musical director of several barbershop groups in her hometown of Owings Mills, Maryland. As a child, Marion found these rehearsals as compelling as sledding, raking leaves, and catching fireflies. She has a natural ear for harmony, and writes and sings all the lead and harmony parts on her CDs.

Following her harmony-drenched childhood in Maryland, Marion spent nearly 15 years in Boston. There she performed regularly in clubs, coffeehouses, and on live radio. She also performed at various venues in Portland, Oregon, where she lived before moving to Vancouver, Canada.

An intuitive and spontaneous composer, Marion feels that her inspiration isn’t complicated. Instead of trying to write songs, she prefers simply to pay attention; to stay open hearted and open minded and allow the songs to take shape.

When she is not singing and writing music, Marion spends as much time as she can outdoors.
