Bio

Mario Parmisano was born June 18, 1960 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He graduated from Thibaud - Piazzini Conservatory and since the start of professional career in 1980 he has always performed with the most outstanding artists from Argentina such as Pedro Aznar, David Lebón, Silvina Garré, Estela Raval and Sergio Denis.

Mario also played a very important role in the music of the legendary guitarist Al Di Meola - participating as pianist, composer and associate producer in "Orange and Blue", "The Infinite Desire", "The Grande Passion", "Flesh on Flesh", "One of These Nights", "Consequence of Chaos", "Speak a Volcano" and in a vast amount of shows around the world. Next to Al Di Meola Mario took part over the years in many recording sessions and live performances with Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, Steve Gadd, Peter Erskine, Manú Katché, Anthony Jackson, John Patittuci, Marc Johnson - as well as with The Toronto Symphony Orchestra (Canada), The Amadeus Chamber Orchestra (Poland) and The Moscow Symphony Orchestra (Russia).

After decades of musical experience next to the best jazz musicians in the world Mario records his albums “From the Labyrinth” (2000), "To My Parents" (2007) and - his latest - "Remembering Astor" (2010) - where Mario performs own arrangements of the music of Astor Piazzolla in a tango-jazz trio.

In late 2009 Mario has been invited to participate in a unique crossover project with The Chamber Orchestra "Kremlin" - bringing the music of Astor Piazzolla to the admirers of both jazz and classical music.
