Biography

Sharing original songs, how sweet...

I love to play live music, in a small venue. A cafes or terrace, with nice acoustic sound... This is ideal. It's wonderful to play guitar and feel close to the listening audience while sharing original songs. To present the story behind the song/poetry and the music. How sweet!

The process of composing music and writing songs allows me to relax, or surpass my thoughts, express, discover, travel, and explore new horizons.

I enjoy performing solo for intimate acoustic shows, or playing with other musicians, depending on the event.

So, if your venue is looking for some great sounding original material, give me a call or send me an email!

Africa's my Home

Written By: Mario Pronovost

Walking dusty roads
All on my own
No shelter, no food
Barely any clothes
Back form the graveyard
Visiting family
Mom and Dad
I miss you so

Granny’s still here
Tired to the bone
What will I do
The day she’s gone

Africa’s my Home
Don’t leave us alone
Africa’s my Home
Don’t leave us alone

Souls are wounded
Around the world
Keep on praying
We need some light
Hope for better days
For those who remain
Amazing Grannies
You ease the pain

Africa’s my Home
Don’t leave us alone
Africa’s my Home
Don’t leave us alone

Home sweet Home
Africa, Africa, Africa…

Je suis un enfant

Written By: Mario Pronovost

J’entends la terre
Qui se déroule
À coups de tambours
J’entends la mer
Au petit jour
Sous le monde qui s’embrouille
Ma mère cultive un jardin
Mon père construit de ses mains
Une maison pour demain
Y’a rien sans pareil
Je vis au soleil

Je suis un enfant
Je crie au secours
Je veux que s’arrêtent les rois
Voir le paradis, dans ma court
Là où dansent mes parents
Là où jouent mes amis
Là, là où j’ai un toit

Je veux rester tout petit
Grandir sans frontières
Sans province, ni pays
Plus fort qu’hier
Recevoir tous mes frères
Les Saints de guerre

Je suis un enfant
Je crie aux secours
Je veux que s’arrêtent les rois
Voir le paradis, dans ma court
Là... où dansent mes parents
Là... où jouent mes amis
Là, là... où j’ai un toit
Là, là... où j’ai un toit

Tumble down

Written By: Mario Pronovost

Sitting at the café
You walk by
It's been sometime
Since we spoke
Or shared a joke
I haven’t missed you
I thought I would

But seeing you now...

Oh! Memories tumble down
Colors come alive
My head feels so light
And memories tumble down
Memories tumble down

I feel good
Seeing you here
The sun on your face
Heart pounds in my head
Oh! Sounds fade away
But I know I have to let you go...

Memories tumble down
Colors come alive
My head feels so light
And memories tumble down
Memories come alive
Memories tumble down

Memories... tumble down
Memories... tumble down

Québec ma belle troubadour

Written By: Mario Pronovost

Traverser outre mer
Trouver un bout de terre
De la côte de mes ancêtres
D’une langue et de prières
J’ai ramé jusqu’à l’île
Pour t’attendre quanrante jours

Oh! Mon amour...

De coup de foudre
Aux coups de poudre
J’aurai séduit un pays!
Oh! Québec, 400 ans!
Québec! Québec!
Ma belle troubadour
Mon amour, je t’aime...
Et je me souviens

(solo)

Je me souviens des jours
Je me souviens de t’entendre crier
De braver l’hiver et ses mysères
Oh! Ma belle troubadour
Québec, Québec mon amour

Je me souviens
Je me souviens de ta rencontre
De marées, de montagnes
Aux indiens
Je me souviens
Je me souviens... de toi
Ma Québec, ma belle troubadour

Québec, Oh! Québec...

Ma belle amour!

When the Sun

Written By: Mario Pronovost

Early in the morning
You walk your dogs
Down by the railroad tracks
Just alone…

And when the sun is high
You horseback ride
When the sun is high
You fly with pride

You kept a secret
That now you whisper
To your old friend Gulliver
Just alone...

And when the sun is high
You horseback ride
When the sun is high
You fly with pride

When the sun is high
You horseback ride
When the sun is high
You horseback ride

When the sun is high
You fly with pride

When the sun is high
You fly with pride…
