"Mike Longo"

"Mari Rosa is a delight!" - Mike Longo, long-time Musical Director for Bebop legend Dizzy Gillespie

"2013 Top 5 Finalist Song Review (Singer Songwriter Category)"

"The passionate musicality is definitely a strong point! And the melodic aspects perfectly capture the artful tone of the words. The intriguing poetics are often brilliant. It's always refreshing to review this level of songwriting!" - Great American Song Contest

"Kermit Driscoll, jazz bassist"

"Even with thirty years in the music business behind me, Mari Rosa surprised me with the excellence and beauty of her compositions and singing. She has tapped into a concept of music which is innovative, exciting, and different. Mari Rosa has found her voice, and I highly suggest you start listening." - Jazz Bassist(Bill Frisell, Ben Monder)

"Matt Balitsaris, Palmetto Records"

"Mari Rosa has a lovely voice which belies the extent of her control. This artistry enables her to approach even the most sophisticated music with grace and humor." - President, Palmetto Records

"Glenn Alexander"

"Mari Rosa is an amazing talent and all encompassing. Some people are fortunate to acquire the skills to be considered a great instrumentalist or vocalist. Some find their unique sound like no other, and still others are considered great composers. The most impressive talents, who leave their mark and legacy are those who possess all three, which is very rare. These are the stuff legends are made of. Make no mistake about it, Mari Rosa has all three qualities. " - Jazz Guitarist(Chico Hamilton, Pheobe Snow, Bob Dylan)

"Flavorpill.net Review"

A songstress who has received countless critical accolades, as well as a 2005 Billboard [Songwriting] Award, Mari Rosa sings jazzy, seductive numbers in Spanish, Portuguese and English. All [in] a classy, sensuous reflection of her American, Italian, and Argentine roots – encapsulated in a lilting voice that seems to have come down through the ages. - Jason Jeffers, Flavorpill.net

"Miami New Times Review"

"Mari Rosa's debut disc, Honeyspot, feels like the sonic progeny of Martin Denny's Afro-Desia(1959) and Astrud Gilberto and Stan Getz's Gets Au Go Go (1964). Like those two classics, songwriter/vocalist Rosa's disc resists blushing at its own suave subtext... In 2005, Rosa received her first Billboard Music Award for Songwriting; she wrote nine of the twelve songs on Honeyspot, which is still being shopped to labels. She composes in jazz, bossa nova, and bolero styles, and various heady amalgams thereof. [Rosa] describes Honeyspot as a concept album. It is also –like Pink Floyd's Meddle and the Ohio Players' Honey –a conception album."
-Andres Solar - Miami New Times March 8, 2007

"About.com live review"

"Vocalist Mari Rosa is an enchanting young performer with a pitch-perfect voice, a passion for Brasil, and a talent for writing songs that are eccentric and irresistible." John Matouk, About.com

"Boston Globe Review"

"Rosa...is catching the attention of bossa nova and Latin jazz aficionados, who praise her voice as well as her multilingual song-writing skills." — Russell Contreras, Boston Globe, May 6, 2007 - Boston Globe

"The Latin Jazz Corner review"

Vocalist Mari Rosa demonstrates an impressive command over the genre on Honeyspot, presenting a tasteful combination of original songs and traditional material. Both Rosa and her band understand the bossa nova tradition, and play within the bounds of tradition while asserting a unique voice. Rosa presents a complete picture of her musical personality framed within the bossa nova, a skillful task that reflects a highly developed artistry.” - Chip Boaz

"The Hudson Reporter reviews Honeyspot"

[Mari Rosa's] voice is as mellifluous as the album name indicates, flowing smoothly as she shifts between different musical styles and different languages (she sings in Spanish, English and Portuguese). Rosa dazzles on even the album's cover tunes, which include Latin and Bossa standards such as "Besame Mucho" and "So nice (summer samba)," the Marcos Valle tune made popular by Astrud Gilberto - Madeline Friendman, The Hudson Reporter

"Billboard Songwriting Contest"

"Seductive and alluring." - Billboard
