"MTV On Line"

Marissa Mishelle celebrated her Sweet 16 two years ago, throwing the biggest party that Scottsdale, Ariz., had ever seen. Obsessed with the color pink, she made her dad rent a mansion for her "Pink Fantasy" party. Up until that point, Marissa Mishelle always got what she wanted, so she bawled her eyes out when she learned there wasn't going to be a superstar performer at her bash. But the My Super Sweet 16 party pressed on. After turning heads in a dress fit for a princess, Marissa Mishelle turned into a total diva, changing outfits twice. She pitched a fit when she heard there were party crashers, who immediately got the boot. Then, to her surprise, R&B crooner Frankie J put on a surprise performance! Plus, Marissa Mishelle got two -- yes, two -- cars! Two years have passed since Marissa's outrageous Sweet 16 soiree, and she's about to graduate from high school. Actively pursuing a career in music, Marissa Mishelle will be performing on the 2008 Vans Warped Tour. But her rock star dreams take an unexpected turn when she is Exiled to see how the other half lives.

Bio

MARISSA MISHELLE, hailing from central Arizona, manages to defy convention: her music pits her band’s driving rock backing against the MTV pop sensation’s adept vocal stylings to result in a thrilling synthesis of heart-wrenching musical styles that has the potential to sway any manner of audience.
It would seem unlikely that a teen pop star diva would be suddenly inspired to form a completely new pop rock band in the midst of a solo career – but this is indeed the true story of Mishelle’s latest musical endeavor. By June of 2007, Marissa had already become a national star, with multiple appearances on MTV, acting work and a hit single, but she had never played a full-fledged rock show before. That month, following a one-off gig in her home state of Arizona with a backing band, she decided to put together a lineup of local rockers for a completely new project – one that would synthesize her pop sensibilities and the band’s rough-and-ready pop rock sound.

Marissa and her band will be featured on new MTV show Exiled, premiering this August, in which she will also star. The program follows her and seven other cast members as they are sent out to remote locations around the globe to acclimate to life with indigenous tribes. The show, the latest in Mishelle’s regular appearances on MTV, will include in-depth footage of her everyday life in Scottsdale, Arizona, including performances by the band. Additionally, the track “Losing Control” will be featured on the program.
MARISSA MISHELLE was on the road this summer, playing dates on the famed VANS WARPED TOUR in California, Utah, Nevada, New Mexico and Colorado. The band has already gigged in the Midwest and their beloved home state, winning over enthusiastic crowds every time. Mishelle is also planning for more studio time this November to record a new record of originals from her ever-expanding songbook.
MARISSA MISHELLE, now a nationally recognized star, has been involved in the entertainment industry since elementary school. Delivering her first solo performance at age 5, she went on to act in several theatrical productions, including a New York production of Evita and several Equity shows. After making her first appearance on MTV at 16, Marissa has since become a regular on the network – notably with her single “Just So Able,” which, in addition to making the rounds on MTV and MTV Overdrive, was voted the #1 hit single on VH1’s Music Nation. As an actress, she has had a featured role in WB series Hidden Palms, in addition to appearing in the 2007 Universal major motion picture, Kids in America.
MARISSA MISHELLE is ready to seize the day and bring their powerful take on hard rock to audiences nationwide this very instant. She says, “I’ve been having the most fun ever with these guys. Rocking out onstage is an amazing experience for me.”
