Now, after two releases produced under his own steam, it was time to seek new inspiration within the recording process in somebody else besides himself. After being a huge fan of Rune Berg's work for many years in bands like The Margarets and Number Seven Deli, and after sudden encounters in the kitchen area at the studio complex where both Marius and Rune has their "day-jobs", the choice fell very naturally.

Marius cultivates a sound where acoustic and electric guitars melt together in sweet harmony. The songs has a lighter feel to them compared to earlier releases, and Rune Berg produced these pop songs with a steady hand, old-school way. The songs themselvs are in focus. The album consists of ten songs that span over a broad musical universe. A marriage set for late August leaves it's mark on the music, and the celebration of love is a fact in the song "Don't Turn Your Back On Love", the first single off the album. People are very exited:

"Power-pop at God's mercy! An epic pearl within Norwegian popular music!" - Finn Bjelke, NRK

"Pop-music with a catchy chorus that sticks in your ear, and a melody that brings hope of a imminent summer. The production sounds unmistakably Rune Berg" - Dust Of Daylight.

"The song gets my approval for sure, I definitely recommend checking it out!" - Musikkbloggen

The single culminated in a co-writing session between Kristiansen, Berg and MAG Larsen. The lyric ended up as a explosive tribute to love, told with familiar and well defined boxing expressions, beautifully accompanied with the sweetness, the springtime-feel and the catchy sounds that has become typical for Berg as a producer. This song is unavoidable!

"Statements" will be Kristiansens third release as a solo artist. It is released through Pilr/Musikkoperatorene on Friday June 7, 2013. Earlier releases is the debut album "The Movement" (2012), and the EP "Days Go By" (2012)

Marius has been an important figure for a long time on the norwegian music scene. As a guitar player, with famous deLillos-bassist and songwriter Lars Fr. Beckstrm and his Beckstrm Quartet, underground americana-group Bob Haley, and the new and very exciting project The Humble Servants where many profiled norwegian musicians have collaborated and together formed a new norwegian "supergroup". As a producer at Sparkle Sound Studios, he has shaped and formed many of Oslo's up and coming bands and artists, and also partisipates on many recordings.
