(Minneapolis, MN, August 4, 2005) - Minneapolis based Singer/songwriter Mark Alan, is the winner of the 3rd annual United Kingdom Songwriting Contest (UKSC) for the best Christian/Gospel song in 2005.

Alan’s song, “Got me Flyin’” received the winning nod from a panel of United Kingdom and international music industry professionals. Alan was also noted as a finalist for his ballad, “Fragmented Dreams.”

Alan Hardman, Director of the UKSC, announced the contest results Tuesday in England, saying, "Mark Alan's well crafted song, “Got Me Flyin’,” greatly impressed the judges with its positive, uplifting feel. It is a worthy winner."

The international contest received over 4,000 entries worldwide. No other song contest in the world comes close in generating media attention and in getting publishing and recording deals for new songwriters, according to songwritingcontes.co.uk.

23-year-old, Minneapolis native, Mark Alan is achieving success with his unique brand of Christian pop-rock.
