"In addition to being a really nice guy, I find Mark Ambrose to be a thoroughly engaging songwriter. You never have to ask me twice if I'd like to see Mark perform. I think honesty and integrity in songwriting still count for something. Mark has it in spades." - quote from Chris Wall

Bio
Mark honed his craft of songwriting by befriending Bill Monroe, and GREAT Texas songwriters Townes VanZandt, Rick Cardwell, and Doak Snead. Mark moved to Nashville in 1989, and met Townes VanZandt in 1992, threw the rules out the window and moved to Texas.
Mark's song, "Shadow on The Moon", has been sung by Toni Price, Freddy Powers, and a classical version by Jennifer Bryan. Other songs by Mark have been recorded by The Weary Boys, Jane Bond, and many others. Mark has recorded with Gillian Welch and David Rawlings. Mark's guitar work can be found on Gillian's "Soul Journey" album. Mark's album, "Put The Hammer Down", was produced by David Rawlings, in THE historic RCA Studio B (Home of Elvis). Mark has a personal, relaxed approach blending country, folk, rock, and blues. He entertains his audiences with his wit and storytelling, and most of all, his music.
