Bio
Like a lyric in a famous song, Mark was born by the river in 1983. Born & raised in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, Mark experienced the big city life. At the age of 12 he started writing his own songs and formed a High School band. The band quit after 3 years but Mark gained some experience as the lead singer and performed in front of 500 people in that period. Still he never realised his potential and decided to study at the Rotterdam University to become a teacher. After doing this for about 2,5 years and Amsterdam based producer wanted to talk to him about his lyrics. A deal was almost agreed when Mark pulled at the last second. To him his personal feelings and lyrics meant too much to be sang by other people. From this moment on he was determined to make it on his own. Knowing it was going to be a long journey he quit teaching but went back to the University to study Media and Entertainment management. At this time he Started recording demo’s, the first ever song called ‘Everytime’. He realised his own home recording studio and became the host of a local radio show. Hard work started to pay off as Mark landed a dream job at MTV Networks in 2006.
Marks singing resulted in a lot of invitations from radio and TV stations for interviews and live performances and the song hit High Rotation at various Dutch radio stations.
