Discography

Over the past 4 years Daly has been producing and recording original tunes on his own. With over 25 songs recorded over the years you can see the progression and development in Daly's songwriting and musicianship. Daly considers his most recent demo featuring tunes such as Tin Pan Alley, Southwick Whall, Scoexist, Euphoria, Letter from the Sky, Midnight Review, and Fools his proudest material and best reflection of his current musical approach to things. Daly has recorded an album with the Goshen Ramblers at Chakra 5 Studios in Colchester in the winter of 2008, and 102.9 "The Album Station" occasionally plays tunes from the Deep Freyed Blues band which Daly plays drums in.

Bio

Born in the small town of Middlebury Vermont, Mark Daly has always been a performer. Though originally a drummer in his early musical career, Daly soon began developing his own style of songwriting in college at the University of Vermont. Learning the guitar and developing his own vocal style, Daly started gigging at local cafe's and clubs. After switching to a music major half way into college, Daly has been expanding his skills as a guitar player over the past 3 years while studying jazz guitar with teacher Joe Capps. Over the past 5 years Daly has been in a funk, jazz, jam band called Pale Moon, a band consisting of some great friends from high school. Due to different career opportunities the band has slowly broken apart, however, Daly is currently involved in two bands along with his solo act, The Goshen Ramblers, an acoustic duo out of Burlington Vt, and Deep Freyed blues band in which Daly plays drums. As the summer approaches Daly has switched focus to his solo career and the formation of Mark Daly and Plato Ears. Rooted with soulful funk, jazz, reggae and rock Daly is looking to not only spread his music, but a certain message and energetic vibe to whatever crowd he can. With influences ranging from Phish to The Beatles, Neil Young, John Scofield, The Grateful Dead, Herbie Hancock, John Coltrane, you name it, Daly's music keeps audiences interested and left wanting more. If you want a lively, groovin' and passionate show you must check out Mark Daly. Over the past couple of years gigging around New England Daly has shared bills with bands such as the Dave Grippo Funk Band, Twiddle, Pete Francis of Dispatch, Zox, The Grift, Comanchero, Skinjer (members of Addison Groove Project), Named by Strangers, and more.
With the ability to play solo and with a band, Daly can adapt to any kind of venue. While his solo shows are extremely intimate, they are nevertheless energetic and upbeat. Stay tuned for more information as the full band experience "Mark Daly and Plato Ears" developes.
