"Chlorine-Primer"

Raucous Rock and Roll! - Music Connection

"All Music"

Though Chlorine cite Aerosmith and Cheap Trick as their musical foundation, Toys in the Attic never had the paranoid anger of Primer and songs like "Over Your Shoulder" and "Gravity"; nor did Rick Nielsen's guitar ever sound as abrasive as Chris Henrich's. However, the band's pop/metal aspirations are evident on the guitar hooks of "Don't Even Care" and the anthemic chorus of "Live a Lie." Primer is filled with the type of songs with sharp instrumentation and subtle melodic hooks that are appreciated after successive listens -- in other words, it's a grower. - Steve Kurutz

Bio

Born and raised in Houston Texas, Mark Fain is anything but a stranger to the music world.

After playing in local bands, Mark was recruited by Ivan DePrume (White Zombie) to join Anchor and they recorded a 4 song ep and had a release on on Amphetamine Noise Records.

After Anchor, Mark formed Chlorine. They landed a deal with Timebomb /Arista/ BMG records and went to LA to record their debut album Primer at the legendary Sound City with Matt Hyde at the producers helm. The band hit the road to promote, touring globally as both headliner and as support act for well known artists such as Alice Cooper, Buckcherry, Fuel, Sponge, Kid Rock etc...

Despite extensive touring Chlorine disbanded and Mark moved to Seattle to join Loaded with Duff McKagan (Guns-N-Roses, Velvet Revolver) playing lead guitar.

Mark left Loaded after a year and went into a writing frenzy. He collaborated with Muddy Stardust and Troy Patrick Ferrel to record a 4 song EP called Up The Dose. He played lead guitar in Blacklist Union and released an album called After the Mourning.

Mark began to produce and engineer his recordings, creating a large library of music for licensing. His credits include feature films, tv, radio and the net. His favorite placement happens to last a mere 9 seconds but its the theme to “Stump the Trunk” on VH1’s That Metal Show. A show Mark is addicted to.

It has been Mark’s privilege to collaborated with some of the finest players and producers in the industry. Today, Mark is putting the finishing touches on his solo album thats set to drop early 2014. Stay tuned!
