I'm a singer-songwriter, from the Pocono mountains of Pennsylvania. My favorite part of the day is early morning, out on the deck, with my guitar, notebook, coffee and cigarettes. You never know what thoughts or music you might stumble upon.

Biography

Hi, thanks for viewing my page. I was born in Philadelphia, and have been living in the Pocono mountains of Pennsylvania for 30 years. I've always been a fan of country music. I started writing my own music about two years ago, and it's become my passion. I think we all share similar experiences in life, and I try to write in a way that's easy to relate to, and musically appealing. I'm hoping to gain some exposure, and hopefully a door will open to something I truly love doing.

Your Heart Don't Give

Written By: Mark Hendrickson

You think it's all about you
Keep tellin' me the things that I don't do
I never said that I was perfect
Never knew that that was a defect
Sometimes you need some give and take
But I can't seem to get me a fair shake
You keep on lookin' for a better way to live
But your heart don't give
No your heart don't give

I know exactly what you need
'Cause you got no problem tellin' me
You demand and you bitch and you moan
But you squeezed me dry and I'm down to the bare bone
Don't know what it is that you think
I wasn't put on earth so that you could wear mink
You keep on lookin' for a better way to live
But your heart don't give
No your heart don't give

Love ain't supposed to be one way
But it never goes my way, it's your way or the highway
There ain't no limit, you keep goin' all in
There's no way to win so I'm cashin' in

You think I can't live without you
I ain't gonna miss what you put me through
There ain't gonna be much pain
When they cut me loose from this ball and chain
I'm done reachin' out for you
'Cause your so far gone you don't have a clue
You keep on lookin' for a better way to live
But your heart don't give
No your heart don't give

Someday you're gonna look around
But I'm tellin' you now that I won't be found
You got a taste for blood but I don't want to bleed
For your endless need and relentless greed

You think it's all about you
Keep tellin' me the things that I don't do
You think it's all about you
I ain't gonna miss what you put me through
You think it's all about you
You think it's all about you....

Don't You Cry For Me

Written By: Mark Hendrickson

Life don't always go the way you planned
Some things happen you can't understand
The reasons why ain't always plain to see
You try to live the way you know you should
Not everyday will turn out good
But I know not everything is meant to be
So don't you cry for me

There are times you're gonna lose your way
Can't make sense of it, but that's okay
Being true unto yourself will set you free
Sometimes no matter how you try
All you're seein' is a cloudy sky
But the sun is gonna shine eventually
So don't you cry for me

And there's no way of knowing
What tomorrow's gonna bring
Don't waste your time in worry
'Cause that won't change a thing

Don't worry 'bout your circumstance
'Cause life's a gift and there's no second chance
It's enough to be the best that you can be
Try to live each day without regret
And make the most of every chance you get
If you keep your faith you'll find serenity
And don't you cry for me

The Way That I Feel

Written By: Mark Hendrickson

I head off for work, then I call it a day
Got an ordinary life, you know there ain't much to say
Goin' out with some friends on a saturday night
Everything is okay but not everything's right
I tried to pick up where the pieces fell
How well I'm doing only time is gonna tell
Cause you still got a hold on the way that I feel
And I'm tryin' to move on
But you're still spinnin' my heart like a wheel

Well I guess you moved on, and you never looked back
But I'm bound to this course and I can't seem to untrack
Don't know what it was that you were hoping to find
The things people need ain't always clearly defined
No use thinkin' 'bout how things might have been
I need to find some way out, of the place I'm in
Cause you still got a hold on the way that I feel
And I'm tryin' to move on
But you're still spinnin' my heart like a wheel

I know there's gonna be some better days ahead
Maybe it'd be better if these words were never said
That you still got a hold on the way that I feel
And I'm tryin
It's hard lettin' go when you were in it for real
Now you still got a hold on the way that I feel
And I'm tryin' to move on
But you're still spinnin' my heart like a wheel

Pastor's Daughter

Written By: Mark Hendrickson

It was a time of great unease
And the days were unforgiving
When I was down upon my knees
And everything had lost it's meaning
The desert road had parched my soul
Without a sign of any water
My hopes were fading like the day
When I was touched by a pastor's daughter

I noticed something in her eyes
I felt the depths of her despair
I felt my spirits start to rise
And something changing in the air
When she released me from my chains
I saw the ghost that she let haunt her
I saw the presence of the pain
In the eyes of a pastor's daughter

I found a comfort in her smile
And in the fairness of her face
And she walked with me awhile
And I was taken by her grace
And though I wanted her to stay
There was little I could offer
I couldn't chase that ghost away
From the heart of a pastor's daughter

They say that time will heal old wounds
And disappointments from the past
But it was not until that day
That my heart was free at last
And so I looked up at the sky
And thanked the Lord that he had brought her
But I owed the freedom of my soul
To the touch of a pastor's daughter
