BandPopSinger/Songwriter

Mark Hogan has always described himself as his heart acoustic but with his new album "Lucky Man" they are headed somewhere else. This is a full band recording with the sounds of country acoustic rock. You can expect much more out of this album them his previous works.

Biography

I hate having to write a biography for myself. You're told to keep it short and that's really hard, figuring that I know everything there is to know about myself. I've been solo for about four years now. And in that time I have written many songs, played many shows, released two album.

I have done the whole band thing before but it never seems to work out. It wasn't until my grandmother past away that I realized I was meant to be solo. She always thought I was better by myself. When she was diagnosed with cancer, she asked me to write her a song and to sing it at her funeral, so I did. Goodbye was one of the hardest songs that I have ever written. She didn't pass away until the morning that I finished the song in August of 2005. I took that as a sign that I was meant to be solo.

Throughout the following year I would spend most of my time playing shows and working on my debut album “When the Hard Times Settle. Basically recording songs as fast as I could finish writing them, I put the album together in a few short months. It was the story of the last few years of my life. About 6 months later everything was ready to be released and I launched the album on December 6th of 2006.

Since that I have played countless shows and worked on my second album which was titled "Lucky Man" and release on June 27th of 2009. This album has a whole different feel to it. Half being acoustic songs and the other brings a full band into the mix. Over the next year I plan to tour and play any date I can get my hands on.

Lyrics

Movin' On

Written By: Mark Hogan

Our future doesn't look that good
Contemplating moving on when I think I should
I think about everything that we've ever been threw
And how can I move on when I'm not over you
And after every moment you ever spent with me
I've lost you when I never thought it would be
It was you and I forever, cause I thought we would never
I thought you'd be the one and not just a girl to remember

I wanna move on movin on
Wanna get you out of my head
Cause with these thoughts of without you
I wish that I was dead

When its time to finally move on
And I've written all of your songs
And I'm done wishing that you'd just come back to me
But I just wish you'd see what I see
Cause I've gotta move on but I just don't want to
Cause I'm not ready to let go of you
And I don't think that I will ever be
Cause I never wanted to leave

I wanna move on movin on
Wanna get you out of my head
Cause with these thoughts of without you
I wish that I was dead

The only way to revive me
Is to bring back what we had
tried too many times
No matter what I cant do it
Don't think of you I've gotta move on
But your thoughts fill my head

I wanna move on movin on
Wanna get you out of my head
Cause with these thoughts of without you
I wish that I was dead
I wanna move on movin on
Wanna get you out of my head
Cause with these thoughts of without you
I wish that I was dead

When The Hard Times Settle

Written By: Mark Hogan

Look into these walls
Listen to the stories that they tell
There to remind me of what I had
The times when I happen to be sad
This tale is long and it is free
The times when I was so happy
With every not and every grain
The wood reveals all of my past pain

When the hard times settle
And the pain goes away
Everything will be fine
Cause tomorrows a better day
When the hard times settle
And the pain goes away
Everything will be fine
Cause tomorrows a new day

The memories that come back to me
The painfulness they bring they are guilty
But I don't feel it that bad this time
Because I know it's only in my mind
I smoothed it out once before
So this time it's gonna get ignored
Your not gonna make me feel the way I did
Because I'm over all of this

When the hard times settle
And the pain goes away
Everything will be fine
Cause tomorrows a better day
When the hard times settle
And the pain goes away
Everything will be fine
Cause tomorrows a new day

And I will listen but I don't talk back
Cause I wanna hear the ending (the ending)
This time no tears will sprout
Done before so I have ran out
Tell me my past which is settled and over with
And it's ok cause no tears will come back

When the hard times settle
And the pain goes away
Everything will be fine
Cause tomorrows a better day
When the hard times settle
And the pain goes away
Everything will be fine
Cause tomorrows a new day

Save Me

Written By: Mark Hogan

Step off the stage another girl another day
When I don't wanna live my life this way
I want someone that cares about me
Care about its something I can't go without

Save me I'm slowly falling down
Tonight I want a taste of what I'm living without
The morning when everyone is gone
And I'm left with the taste of where I was all along

Never tired of the parties but the life I lead
It's pleasurable but my heart it doesn't feed
Gotta have someone that cares about me
The girl my heart feels and needs

Save me I'm slowly falling down
Tonight I want a taste of what I'm living without
The morning when everyone is gone
And I'm left with the taste of where I was all along

Wake up the morning after and there all gone
It's not what I want not where I belong
I want them to care, want them to be there
I'm done with all these flings and all these affairs

So save me I'm slowly falling down
Tonight I want a taste of what I'm living without
The morning when everyone is gone
And I'm left with the taste of where I was all along
So save me I'm slowly falling down
Tonight I want a taste of what I'm living without
The morning when everyone is gone
And I'm left with the taste of where I was all along

So save me (save me)
Yeah save me (save me)
So save me (save me)
Yeah save me
