Their collaboration ended in 2005 and Mark moved to Amsterdam, starting the writing process for his first album "Pain & Entertainment". The album was released late 2007. On the album Mark sings a drum 'n bass duet with Johnny Dowd (USA), the American master of alternative Country-Blues. Mark met Johnny on a party in a small Dutch town called Zoetermeer. From 2006 onwards Mark and his band played several nights as Johnny's support-act. In addition, Mark and his band also played as opening act for Canned Heat. After the release of “Pain & Entertainment Mark moved to Mijnsheerenland (situated near Rotterdam) where he started writing his second album: "Better things to Do" (released in 2009).
