"Wow what a find!!"

Wow what a find!! And he's been sitting under our noses for a while - based in Sydney, as a co-writer with his sister and touring in her live band ... how did we not know???
The artist is Mark McCue and his sister is internationally acclaimed ALT country star, Anne McCue. "One Little Burst of Madness" is his debut effort and what a joy it is.
McCue straddles the alternative pop lines with ALT country with such ease while channeling everyone from Nick Cave to Crowded House to Graeme Connors to The Beatles.
I am loving the tracks "You Don't Have to Go There", "Your Ferocious Heart", "Seize The Moment" and "Out of Control".
Mark McCue is a refreshing artist and "One Little Burst of Madness" is a great companion for a lonely night or road trip.

Bio

Mark McCue is a singer-songwriter based in Sydney, Australia.

McCue released his highly praised debut solo album, One Little Burst of Madness in 2006. McCue previously played in Sydney’s indie band scene featuring in such bands as The Trilobites and Native Tongue and producing and writing the material for his band thiRst’s eponymously titled release in 1999.

McCue’s highly regarded songwriting credentials are augmented by his collaborative achievements with US based singer-songwriter extraordinaire sister, Anne McCue, with whom he has co-written songs that have appeared on numerous high profile serialised US television productions.

One Little Burst of Madness features a collection of beautifully rendered and emotion tugging songs. Varied genres are traversed with equal authority from the countryesque "I Miss You" and "Seize the Moment" to the brit pop tinged “You Don’t Have to Go There”, from the dark and foreboding gospel influenced "Where was God?" to the classic ballad, "Turn Your Light On".

McCue’s guitar playing features some beautiful slide guitar on “I Wish”, “I Miss You”, the Beatlesque “Out of Control” and “A Star is Love” where the voices of McCue’s children can be heard speaking and singing. McCue - “I was able to involve my children in the recording process and my little boy was also involved in writing “A Star is Love”. It’s been extremely pleasing to be able to link the two strands of my life in such a way”.
