Mark Of The Sage - "To Have And Hold Down" Mark Of The Sage - "To Have And Hold Down" is headed in the right direction with this offering on their new EP. To realize this, one only has to put the CD in the player, turn it on, and get ready for the ride! These cats are enchanted! These rockers can rock with the best ever! What truly amazing ride thru time and space! These rockers willsneak inside your mind, tweak it in about 360 degrees of seperation, and then, put it back the way they want it... rocking 'bout as hard as one can! This EP is full of range, from soft melodies to some of the hardest riffs to be found on any CD! Cali proves he is the MASTER OF AX! After being privy to hearing this incredible guitarist at Red Bud Rivalry in Stillwater this past spring, and seeing this cat in action, I have told many that I know about this amazing talent. He has to be in your top 3 Ax men from Oklahoma, and maybe in your all time top 5! Riffs flow like butter on toast, he truly truly can shred with the best... and then listen to the rest of thesecats. Led by vocalist Alan Little, with solid vocals that are full of range and depth, and an uncanny way of fining range that surprise and twist, with some of the best lyrics on any EP... then, the excellent percussion work that is top drawer will also find a way into your soul, pounding out the life that is there and wanting release... awsome arrangement, very tight, very professional, very well written... Twisting and Turning...these rockers will rock your socks off... and you will want more! It is amazing in just four tracks they can take you from death to revolution, to rebellion, to birth...and beyond. MOTS, you got it going on, keep it up! I have to go 6 of 5 stars for these Oklahoma rockers. Top drawer in every way, this EP showcases Oklahoma's genres of music and how in each genre we are blessed with some of the best in the USA! "In this 4th year of hosting the statewide Oklahoma Music Awards, the voting was very zealous and heavy especially in the last two weeks", said Stan Moffat, owner of Payne County Line Promotions in Stillwater, OK. Moffat went on to state that the voting volume increased by another 10% this year with the total number of votes nearing 1.8 million votes, from all 50 states and 32 countries around the world. The voting process is unusual in that only one vote per ISP address and that one must download a PDF ballot and actually fill in the name of those the person wishes to vote for and then send the ballot in electronically. "This is not a standard computer vote till your finger hurts vote, but a very good cross section of those who truly love and have knowledge of the music industry in OK and the many excellent artists from this great state", Moffat went on to say. There are 108 categories and one must receive at least 25 votes to be officially nominated for the award. This year there were almost 1375 which missed this simple mark. There were 801 nominated in the 107 areas, and the list is truly best of the best, the 107 who won their respective areas. Moffat announced that in 2008, the 5th year for the Payne County Line Oklahoma Music Awards, there would be an awards event held to honor the best of the best with the top entertainers performing. He stated, "Many bands and artist have already made their intentions known and want to be 'on stage' if they win!"

Bio

Flowing like ice water through the veins of America's heartland, Mark of the Sage unleashes a raucous mix of revival and rebellion. With maniacally driven six-stringed chaos and a rhythm section that hits with the power of a wrecking ball yet the precision of a jeweler's mallet, the senses are primed for the melodic twists and turn of phrase that are equally impressive and depressive. The underlying motif of change and the need to adapt push and pull the audience through a myriad of emotions from pre-emptive surrender and submission to bloodlust and revolution. Whether on their first full length album, 2004's Within and Without, or their latest e.p., To Have and To Hold Down, Mark of the Sage take you on a trip down Amnesia Lane, blindfolded, at 120 mph. Angst for the memories.- Mark of the Sage
