Bio

Mark Paré grew up on the outskirts of Toronto, and while Nirvana and Pearl Jam were changing the world, artists like
Hayden, hHead, and Change of Heart were having a much more profound and personal effect on Mark's view of songwriting and performing. Looking back fondly at shows
by the above at the Opera House and other Toronto venues - does anyone remember Woolsock? In those days, Mark cut his teeth playing in franco-ontarien band Vision Affaiblie,
playing shows throughout Ontario, including back to back appearances at the Festival Franco-Ontarien, and the CBC's La brunante.

Vocals influenced by artistst as diverse as Neil Young, Benjamin Gibbard and Gord Downie, to guitar playing tinged with traces of Robbie Krieger (the Doors) and Hubert Sumlin (Howlin Wolf, Muddy Waters), not to mention the grittiness of the grunge era.
Mark Paré has never sought to emulate any specific style, rather flowing with the natural evolution of his own voice and playing.

Having performed with various bands from Toronto to Ottawa, to Buckingham Québec, Mark can burn down the house with an intense, smoking guitar solo, or perform a quiet
set of intensely personal and heartfelt acoustic music.

Recently, Mark has performed as guitarist for alt-Americana-folkers Northlander (formerly Kinnexa Cross), and performed solo acoustic material throughout Ottawa, at local
farmers markets, at the Old Ottawa South Art and Music Festival, the Victoria Day and Canada Day Festivals in Ottawa, at Brampton Summerfest, and at Huxley's in Renfrew.

Stay tuned in the fall of 2011 for 100% DIY release of 'The New Impossible' a demo/EP of original material.
