Bio
Exploding out of Metro Detroit and onto the music scene is the fresh vocal
styling of Mark Nikollaj. This bright talent hails from Sterling Heights, MI
and has released his debut album, entitled Affliction, in 2007 which has been
ranked as a top seller on CDBaby.com music store.
Mark got his start singing at local venues and songwriting for local talent. Over the years, Mark has produced a unique sound that blends Urban, Pop, and R&B.
His music cannot be described as sounding just like another artist. Instead,
his sound is a pulsating blend of beats and melodies; the sound you hear on
the album is the same thing youll hear when you catch a glimpse of the
electrifying performance he gives on stage. When asked to compare his sound,
people often suggest Justin Timberlake, Craig David, and Usher. His rapid
rhythm and high falsettos guarantee a different listening experience on each
track.
When not performing Mark is constantly writing and lending his vocal talents to other artists and rappers heading all over the US. He is a singing/writing force, and his music is both accessible and marketable on a wide array of stations; Top 40, Pop, Hip-Hop/R&B, and has two singles out now that are in rotation. Mark is a young artist at just 22 and has the potential and talent to become the next breakout crossover artist from Detroit.
In January 2009, www.marknikollaj.com was launched with a Song-a-Week
promo that will continue for 6 months ending July 11, 2009. Mark records and releases a FREE song per week through his website. Fans new and old are loving the tracks
and downloads have been increasing by the week.
Fast forward to today, Mark recently graduated from the Recording Arts
program at Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida, one of the top
entertainment schools in the world. It was there that Mark was awarded with
the prestigious Ace Award for Best R&B/Hip Hop Recording for Pressure by
Full Sail University and winner of the February 2009 Producers Showcase.,
with his song Going for Gold.
Mark continues to work on new tracks for the Song-a-Week promo and now starting to tour, recently opening for acts such as Donnie Klang and Frankie J.
The future is shining bright for Mark Nikollaj...Dont be left out in the dark.
