"Run of the Mill (RMX) 12" review"

Having first appeared on the INDIEgo sampler appearing with Tha Alkaholiks and Rasco, Spaztik Emcee is back to make a name for himself with his debut on Cosmic Flux. Making a name for yourself in underground rap isn't hard when you've got verbal artillery for days and Chops from the Mountain Brothers handling your remix. The A-Side puts smooth in butter with a bouncy jazz groove and quips like "I'm seven times The Source minus the advertisements and remorse." On the flipside Grand Agent, Chops and Spaztik transform like Megatron into a rap supergat on "We Three Kings" guaranteed to blow your mind. "Yo I'm a warrior, so gangsters wanna blast my ass like Cyrus; pussy MC's want the dick, but they don't wanna catch the virus." This vinyl is a DJ's delight, complete with full instrumentals and lyric acapellas. With Run-D.M.C. samples sprinkled throughout these songs, you'll want to bob your head and pour out one for JMJ at the same time. Make sure to put this Spaztik Emcee in your mix. - Steve 'Flash' Juon:: Rapreviews.com

"Indiego Sampler Review"

INDIEgo's Hip Hop Sampler consists of the best independent/ underground artists from all over the country. Every region, style and genre of Hip Hop music and culture are represented on this sampler. With this wide variety of artists and styles, we can open the minds of listeners to experience styles of hip hop that they are unfamiliar with. This is also the goal for the airwaves, record stores, and publications in the hip hop industry. While East Coast artists may be preferred in the north, we hope that a Mid West artist or a West Coast artist may gain some exposure there as well. We appreciate all of your help in keeping the independent/ underground scene alive. Starting off the sampler is Spaztik Emcee, a West Coast talent, with a true sound that easily blends the East Coast's heart. Collaborations prosper throughout his album “For Those That Do”, and make it a brilliant hit nationwide..... - HipHop3a.com

"For Those That Do"

I usually like to use my own words when describing a release but in the case of For Those That Do, I'm going to quote Children Of Productions press material which correctly asserts that "Spaztik Emcee is the ultimate fusion of Philadelphia's smooth soulful sounds and California's high tech, bump in the trunk, laid back lifestyle. This is an album of unification. Funk and Jazz, computers and instruments, though and impulse, the ying and the yang: this is for you. Hip Hop in its original form."

Not only does West Phil's Chops handle production and occasionally bless the mic on For Those That Do, the Illadelph is stamped all over this thing from PhillyHopHop.com's 2001 Artist Of The Year Grand Agent to O.G. Bigfoot to DJ Kwestion to Dave Ghetto to Sun.

Bigfoot and Lyric One spit daggers on what may be the album's most pleasing song. That cut would simply be called High. Bigfoot's commanding delivery is put to maximum use in a solid melding of man and music. Dave Ghetto and Sun get their chance to shine and seize the moment on First Assignment. The solid, bouncy funk, straight up undaground sounds of Fresh were recorded right here in Chop's own 215 studio The House Of Ill Repute. This cut will no doubt pop up on mixtapes from coast to coast. With an even more Phil feel is the Grand Agent blessed We Three Kings. This limp moving slice of Hip Hopness effortlessly weaves in and out of Grand and Chops vocal jabs and the tight turntable breakdowns courtesy of Kwestion. Cali's Darryl Powell nails his verbal dismount with impressive flair on the catchy, uptempo Rocksteady. This is the type of cut commercial radio would play if they weren't in bed with the majors. They might sleep but you shouldn't.

The party continues with the b-boy favorite Run Of The Mill. I envision brothers breakin' like crazy to this retro break beat banger. and the superduperjazzerific sounds of the Run Of The Mill remix. Combine a grove as mellow and flowing as a late night creep on East River Drive along with fluid flows on the mic and the sweetness of Regina Monique's voice and you have the ingredients for the elusive REAL Hip Hop.

If your waiting to see which cut is the weak link you might as well stop holding your breath cause it just ain't gonna happen. Expect It, The Wild, Red, Hot remix, Green Paper.... it's like a boxing match, nothing but more and more hits.

I'm going to keep it simple, For Those That Do is available for public consumption. Consume it. - Funk Wizard Snow :: Editor :: Phillyhiphop.com

"Traditional Rap Tour"

Camp Lo, Grand Agent and Tajai of Hieroglyphics are embarking on the "Traditional Rap" tour, which is slated to kick off January 9.
The tour aims to recreate the environment that shaped hip-hop by emulating park jams and house parties.
Throughout the show, fans are taken on a journey back in time, as the DJ's and rappers perform sets influenced by all era's of hip-hop, from the 1970's to the present-day.
"I saw the need for this tour, because a lot of great hip-hop is being overshadowed by the more commercial acts," Mark Spitz told AllHipHop.com. Spitz is over seeing the entire "Traditional Rap" tour.
Fans will hear classic material from Camp Lo, Grand Agent and Tajai as well as new material from each artist's forthcoming releases.
Other artists on the tour include Addict Merchants, Mark Spitz, Trunks, Maestro Black, Tribeca, Greans, Demolition Men, DJ Devroof and United States ITF scratch Champ DJ Teeko.
