Review for Mark Thompson
Category: Music

Mark Thompson Strikes a Chord at Every Turn.

Listening to Mark Thompson's songs one after the other brings to mind many historical sounds from the past and yet the listener can appreciate the originality of this artist as well. Mark hits on many arrangements that you think you've heard before, but yet you can easily hear that this is all original and new music.

Mark's ability to write, arrange and record his own music with a very high quality of sound, instrumental input, and personality runs throughout all of his music. The amazing fact is that every song sounds like a completely different artist, from a totally different genre at times. This gives Mark the unmatched ability to create almost whatever he likes, depending on his mood and temperment at the time of writing.

Mark Thompson's songs will never disappoint the listener and will open up new worlds in music while at the same time, relishing in the sounds of the early days of Rock and Roll and Country, and somtimes an all new sound in itself.

High Road Radio takes much pride in including Mark and his music in our airplay.

Bio

With the tastes of Niel Young, Tom Petty, Johnny Cash and David Bowie, Mark Thompson's song writing is a well blended mix of alternative/americana/country, and bluesey rockn'roll. His roots are evident in each song as they wear their own wardrobe of interesting lyrics and musical intrigue.
Mark Thompson has been in and out of the coverband scene over the past 20 years, performing at local clubs and various venues with fellow musicians throughout the New England area.

Now Mark Thompson has cut a new demo CD 'Good Man'. The songs from this compilation range from the Bluesy 'Whacha gonna do' & 'Uncle Charlies paradise', to the more country sound in the cut 'You and me' , and the title track 'Good man' . Each song has it's own particular influence, lending to his unique style. As a solo performer or with his band Mark Thompson brings those classic familiar sounds wrapped together with his own
diverse music and lyrics while giving audiences anywhere he goes , quality , professionalism and
a fantastic show.
