"I was struck by the sweetness of the music. It had a Divine sweetness that created a space of safety. That isn’t the right word; more of a space to relax, release and open. What a beautiful experience it was. I felt some of the expansiveness of my soul within me. Thank you, thank you, thank you." ---Carolyn Carlyle., Ph.D., Colonial Beach, VA

"Mark Torgeson´s solo piano album has become a heavy play item on our radio series. Torgeson has made a great impact with our listeners." ---Ashley of AcoustiCDigest

“When I hear this music, even if my energy is at a lull, I immediately shift into a better mood. I start feeling this activity inside my head then begin thinking of creative solutions to my day to day issues. And this happens on every listening.”
---Laurie Watkins, Fredericksburg, VA

"Flowing and graceful, Sundance  In Moonlight  is a meditative libation for both the mind and spirit." ---Michael Cokkinos, WFIT FM

“The best way to describe what happened to me is that my crown chakra [energy center] just burst wide open and the colors were an explosion of white and purple, like fireworks, just a whole lot better...” --- Susan Watters, Richmond, VA

"Torgeson is truly gifted, and it shows through all the musical styles he incorporates in his music." ---Lyn McNutt, KUAC FM, Fairbanks, AK

I just wanted to let you know how thankful I am for your special gift of transformational music... It helped me so much in the creative process of writing my book, which has just been published. I can't tell you how often I would play your music, especially at night while I slept or whenever I would have a writer's block. Worked like a charm on some unseen but deeply felt vibrational level. Thank you, again, for helping me reach that place in my heart where my dreams live. ---K.C. Craig , MD - McCoy Artists Group

"About Mark..."

Mark Torgeson is a classically trained pianist who plays the music of transformation. His spontaneously created songs are joyful and filled with heartfelt expression. Drawing inspiration from nature and the cosmos, he delights audiences with his sense of childlike wonderment and unbridled expression.

Mark’s style is classically influenced with an orientation toward the romantic and impressionistic. He also draws from modern traditions and some popular idioms. His repertoire is all original, with free improvisation forming a strong foundation in his concerts. Mark engages the audience by requesting they supply themes for him to play. These themes may range from natural elements - the sea, an evergreen forest - or be as diverse as human emotions - such as passion or grace. His ability to grasp an idea and make it musically sparkle continually thrills his audiences.

For twenty five years Mark has performed and conducted events in the mid-Atlantic, Midwest and West coast regions. He believes we are at a major juncture in human consciousness. “Every major age of cultural evolution has been accompanied by parallel trends in the arts supporting the shifts of heightened awareness. Music with this intention is extremely powerful, and can be used as a bridge toward transformation. We are at a time when music will take the stage as an agent accelerating our ability to change by providing an experience which opens the heart and alters the doorways of perception and behavior.”

Recording credits include fourteen albums, including Living in the Miracle - 27 Topics for Global Shifting, a nine album set designed to help accommodate the swift changes now upon society. His music has received critical acclaim and aired nationwide and internationally. - McCoy Artists Group

Bio

Mark was born in Tokyo to a Japanese mother and an American father. He grew up in the United States, melding the influences of the East and West in his music. He draws from the rich traditions of classical music and jazz to weave a tapestry both sophisticated and spontaneous. His repertoire is all original, with free improvisation forming a strong foundation in his concerts.

Through the themes of nature and the cosmos, one hears in this music the pulse of earthy elements and the sweeping cosmological stories of the stars.

Mark's repertoire is always original, surprising, fueled by whim and the emotion of joy. Compositions at his concerts range from poignant impressionistic meditations to impassioned pastiches of syncopation, defining a style at once compelling yet complex. Concerts are punctuated with Mark's explanation of the transformational aspects of the music, and expositories on the more esoteric aspects of the creative process.

"My desire is not only to create lovely music, but a form which will be of use to others. We are in the midst of a major evolution of consciousness, and music is an important transformational tool in keeping step with this change." ---Mark Torgeson

He believes we are at a major juncture in human consciousness - a time when music will be used to accelerate our ability to change by opening the heart and doorways of perception.

“Every major age of cultural evolution has been accompanied by parallel trends in the arts. Music with the intention of invoking this expansion is extremely powerful, and can be used as an agent of transformation.”

Recording credits include fourteen albums, including Living the Miracle - 27 Topics for Global Shifting, a nine album piano set designed to help accommodate the swift changes now upon society. His music has attained Top Twenty listings in Adult Contemporary, New Age and Acoustic Instrumental radio stations nationwide and internationally.
