THESE WALLS TELL A STORY

Written By: MARK ANTHONY WEST

"these walls tell a story"
[verse 1]
[d] [a]
3 years in this old prison lord it seems so long,
[g] [d] [a]
he keeps a prayer in his heart that the girl wont be gone,
[d] [a]
when these cold bars that hold him finaly let him go,
[g] [d] [a]
this prayer is all he'll have that she'll be thier to hold,
[d] [a]
he thinks of how she clings to his letters and calls,
[g] [d] [a]
lord her name has been written on all of these walls,
[chorus]
[em] [d]
how these walls tell a story of you and me,
[em] [d]
they speak about love and the joy of family,
[c] [d]
each time i look at them i can clearly see,
[c] [d] [g]
just what you mean to me,
[verse 2]
[d] [a]
15 years in this old house lord it's went by so fast,
[g] [d] [a]
they started of with nothing and faith that it would last,
[d] [a]
yes the bad times have came and they have gone,
[g] [d] [a]
all the good times is what makes them hold on,
[d] [a]
with some ups and downs and ocassional falls,
[g] [d] [a]
our pictures are hanging all over these walls,
[chorus]
[em] [d]
how these walls tell a story of you and me,
[em] [d]
they speak about love and the joy of family,
[c] [d]
each time i look at them i can clearly see,
[c] [d] [g]
just what you mean to me,
[verse 3]
[d] [a]
walking through these hallways we see men holding guns,
[g] [d] [a]
proudly wearing red, white, and blue to tell where thier from,
[d] [a]
lots of stone neatly placed in these beautiful feilds,
[g] [d] [a]
the band plays a song that gives you the chills,
[d] [a]
our protectors and friends who keep our country safe,
[g] [d] [a]
and these walls tell thier story of what it takes,
[chorus]
[em] [d]
how these walls tell a story of you and me,
[em] [d]
they speak about love and the joy of family,
[c] [d]
each time i look at them i can clearly see,
[c] [d] [g]
just what you mean to me,

OUR SONG

[verse1]
here i am on the couch and your in our bed,
both been up all night crying from the words that were said,
i know that i love you and you love me
hateful words are easily spoken when your angry,
i picture you in the bedroom in the dark,
a tear in your eye and a broken heart,
and i know thiers something i can do,
call up the radio tell em to play that song for you,
[chorus]
you know the song we first heard on our first date,
the one we chose at our wedding as the song to be played,
the one that brought us togather on those starfilled nights,
the one that told us we were meant to be for the rest of our lifes.
the one that made our eyes meet each time it was on.,
dj mister dj could you please play our song,
[verse 2]
here she is on our bed and she's thinking about me,
she knows she said some things that she really didn't mean,
she thinks back to the days of riding in my car,
and kissing on the hill beneath the stars,
she's listening to the radio down low but it on,
she hurry's and turns it up when she hears our song,
we find ourselfs listening to every word that's spoke,
we travel back in time and regain hope...
[chorus]
you know the song we first heard on our first date,
the one we chose at our wedding as the song to be played,
the one that brought us togather on those starfilled nights,
the one that told us we were meant to be for the rest of our lifes.

I WOULD TRY IF I COULD

Written By: MARK ANTHONY WEST

"I WOULD TRY IF I COULD"
[verse1]
when I woke up this morning to a ringing telephone,
it's the first time that I've herd from you since you been gone,
I close my eyes to hold back the tears that wanna fall,
why did you ever leave me why did you even call,
I tell myself I love you but it would do no good,
but I would try if I could

{chorus}[repeat x2]

yeah I would try to love you all over again,
but I just can't forgive you for your sins,
no matter how hard I fight it I'll always love you,
but I refuse to be your fool,
and we'll never be together it would do no good,
but I would try if I could,

[verse 2]

well that line remained silent for a moment are two,
and the first thing she said was you know I love you,
she told me she was sorry that she made a big mistake,
and she'd like to try again if it wasn't to late,
I told her that I loved her but it would do no good,
but I would try if I could,

{chorus}[repeat x2]

yeah I would try to love you all over again,
but I just can't forgive you for your sins,
no matter how hard I fight it I'll always love you,
but I refuse to be your fool,
and we'll never be together it would do no good,
but I would try if I could,

[verse 3]

when the conversation ended I couldn't think straight,
part of me wished I would have told her ok,
all the heartache that she caused me is what held me back,
why do I even love her why did she do me like that,
I could go back to her but I don't think I should,
but I would try if I could,

{chorus}[repeat x2]

yeah I would try to love you all over again,
but I just can't forgive you for your sins,
no matter how hard I fight it I'll always love you,
but I refuse to be your fool,
and we'll never be together it would do no good,
but I would try if I could,

SHE'S IN THE SPOTLIGHT

Written By: MARK ANTHONY WEST

"SHE'S IN THE SPOTLIGHT"
[verse 1]
Well she's got that perfect body with that preety long hair,
when she walks bye a man he has to turn around and stare,
yeah he might be with his girlfriend or even his wife,
and he might just get smacked if he looks back twice,
naw she can't help god made her such a beutiful site,
and everywhere she goes she's in the spotlight,
[chorus]
she's in the spotlight those jeans so tight,
movin just right causeing lots of fights,
she's in the spotlight and it an't right,
she's been dealing with this problem her whole damn life,
[verse 2]
well i was walking by a bar boys and i saw a little sign,
said no honkytonk angels aloud inside,
i decided to go in for a miller lite,
overheard some boys talkin bout a big ol fight,
said it started the moment that girl walked in,
when she grabbed the attention of all of the men,
she was dressed to thrill with looks that killed,
steped out on the dance floor and showed her skills,
all the women started yellin wanting to leave all the guys sat droolin at what they see,
[chorus]
she's in the spotlight those jeans so tight,
movin just right causeing lots of fights,
she's in the spotlight and it an't right,
she's been dealing with this problem her whole damn life,
[verse 3]
now some might say that girls the one to blame,
but i'd have to admit i don't feel the same,
cause the girl can't help she looks so fine,
and she could come home with me ant damn time
[chorus]
she's in the spotlight those jeans so tight,
movin just right causeing lots of fights,
she's in the spotlight and it an't right,
she's been dealing with this problem her whole damn life,

WILL THESE WAVES EASE MY MIND

Written By: MARK ANTHONY WEST

"WILL THESE WAVES EASE MY MIND"
[verse 1]
[d] [a]
While i sit here by these waves
[g] [d]
watching the palm trees as they sway
[d] [a]
sittin on this sandy white beach
[g]
water as far as i can see
[d]
you might wish you were me,
[a] [g]
but i don't think so, cause you don't know,
[d] [a]
what's going on, in my soul,

{chorus}
[g]
alone here in the sand,
[d]
guitar playing in my hand,
[g]
i tried to run from my home-town,
[d] [a]
don't know why i came here anyhow,
[g] [d]
guess i was trying to leave it all behind,
[a] [g]
i wonder if these waves will ease my mind,

[verse 2]
[d] [a]
here comes a couple walking hand in hand,
[g] [d]
don't mind me folks i'm just a guitar man,
[d] [a]
it's good to see two people smile,
[g] [d]
lord knows that's a feeling i an't felt in quiet a while,
[d] [a]
6 strings are strumming in this floida sun,
[g] [d] [a]
a heartbroke cowboy who is coming undone,

{chorus}
[g]
alone here in the sand,
[d]
guitar playing in my hand,
[g]
i tried to run from my home-town,
[d] [a]
don't know why i came here anyhow,
[g] [d]
guess i was trying to leave it all behind,

i wonder if these waves will ease my mind.

lord help these waves to ease my mind

DO I HAVE A CHANCE

Written By: MARK ANTHONY WEST

"DO I HAVE A CHANCE"
[verse1]
from a children's home in tennesee he sings to the wind.
the only comfort he ever got came from withen.
when he'd sing about loving and having a life.
of a mother and a father to tuck him in at night.
he only imagines the joy that would bring.
and what kind of songs he would sing.
it's been ten years now and he's fourteen years old.
the tell him that his mother is taking him home.
with a tear in his eye and a smile on his face.
he jumps in that old mustang and they embrace.
he ask if he has any uncles and aunt's.
and momma do you think i have a chance.
[chorus]
do i have a chance to know what it's like.
do i have a shot at a better life.
should i even try are should i give up.
do i have a chance at being loved.
is thier enough time are is it too late.
do i have a chance to get my life stright.
[verse 2]
well home was not heaven it was a far cry of that.
he was sleeping in the living room on a old worn out mat.
momma had a husband who would steal from the pope.
instead of buying dinner he's buy something to smoke.
by the time he turned fifteen he had run away from home.
kept the dream in his heart of singing his songs.
by the time he turned sixteen he was falling in love.
with a girl from work who tought him so much.
she tought him about love that girl was his world.
man he wrote so many songs about that girl.
and every song he'd sing her put a smile on her face.
and tonight he ask her before he takes that stage..
[chorus]
do i have a chance to know what it's like.
do i have a shot on this stage tonight.
should i even try are should i give up.
do i have a chance at being loved.
is thier enough time are is it too late.
do i have a chance at the big break.
[verse 3]
from a children's home in tennessee he sings to the kids.
and tells them that he know's excactly where they have been.
that he's walked in thier same shoes a long time ago.
but look at me now and remember you still have hope.
[chorus]
so yeah you have a chance to know what it's like.
and yeah you have a shot at a better life,
yeah you should try and don't give up.
cause you always have a chance of being loved.
thier is plenty of time it's never to late.
you got your whole life to make things strait

LET US WORRY ABOUT YOU

Written By: MARK ANTHONY WEST

LET US WORRY ABOUT YOU
[verse]
While we watch you as you play and we see how your eyes glow.
trying to hide that we're afraid of what your future holds.
you don't know what's going on but me and your mommy do.
Son, just go ahead and play and let us worry about you.

[chorus]
there's nothing better then your smile there's nothing warmer then your voice.
and we would gladly take your place if god gave us the choice.
you don't know what's going on but me and your mommy do.
son just go ahead and play and let us worry about you.

[verse 2]
as we watch you eat your cake celebrating your first year.
holding hands as we pray trying to hold back our tears.
you don't know there's something wrong with a scar on your chest.
and you and mommy play a game when you take your medicine.
you don't know what you'll go through.
but me and your mommy do.
son just go ahead and play.
and let us worry about you.

[chorus]
there's nothing better then your smile there's nothing warmer then your voice.
and we would gladly take your place if god gave us the choice.
you don't know what you'll go through but me and your mommy do.
son just be a little boy and let us worry about you.
