"Comments by Toronto Indie Producer of Money Money"

Mark Wilson is eclectic to say the least. Sometimes haunting, sometimes playful - his music resonates as if plucked from the heart of a classic romantic Canadiana itself. The performance is understated but powerful in its quiet resolve. I invite you to experience Mark Wilson's sound as a personal soundtrack of reflection and contemplation meant for the earliest hours of the morning - Damon de Szegheo - Producer / Engineer

"Comments on Trent Radio"

His voice is Unique...one that truly stands out in a good way, when you hear a Wilson song you know it’s a Wilson song. His music is something that holds a lot of promise and his stage presence is the product of playing and performing music for years. His lyrics and song writing abilities rival performers who are twice his age. - Ryan Fraser -

"Owner of the critically acclaimed Raspuntin's Folk Cafe"

Mark's lyrics and iconic voice are the two things that grab attention - Dean Verger

"Quote from Craig Cardiff"

Mark Wilson is channelling part Nick Drake and part Regine Chassagne (arcade fire). Humble as pie, songs with bite, Mark Wilson and his musical collective make wonderful sounds for the ears.
- Craig Cardiff (singer/songwriter)

"Review by Exclaim Magazine"

He’s got an exceptional talent for arrangements, but this Toronto-based musician has some pipes that could make a Cylon weep. Though left off his impressive EP, The Endless Elevator, this track [Stones and Sticks] from his MySpace page is an exquisite piece of songwriting. The piano trickles out a chord that’s dripping with lament, and then his voice kicks in, which contains a ragged cadence like a more tender Conor Oberst. Why Wilson’s unsigned is beyond me, but his February tour is a perfect time for a clever label to snatch him up. - Cam Lindsay

"Quote From Amanda Putz (CBC Radio)"

Mark Wilson's self-proclaimed "folk" songs belie his sophomore status in university with their maturity as much as their descriptor undermines their complexity in arrangement and sentiment. A gifted lyricist, this 21 year old's reverence for Neil Young bodes well for what will follow Mark's fantastic four-song EP - Amanda Putz

"Review By The Ottawa Citizen"

.... there's a unique spark in his songs and voice. His voice, especially-- it wavers and quakes with a low-fi sensibility, but also confidently delivers evocative lyrics
and lovely melodies. With strings and keyboards gently swelling alongside the waltzes and soft pop, Wilson has put together a handful of songs that reveal originality and great promise. Already he knows how to take a structure--in this case, acoustic folk--and make it his own with a sense of experimentation and playfulness. It's clear Mark Wilson has a long career ahead of him, and it will be exciting to watch him develop along the way.
- Caitlin Crockard

Bio

In the winter of 2005, Mark Wilson released his debut solo recordings titled The Endless Elevator Tour EP. The album moves through several pieces, each with its distinct arrangement and driven by Wilsons unique vocal style. Themed with easily forgotten societal issues and how they affect us on a personal level; the album received positive praise for Wilsons songwriting abilities.

“He hangs delicate waltzes around lyrics that are both blurry and evocative.” – Chart Attack

"...Wilson has put together a handful of songs that reveal originality and great promise." - The Ottawa Citizen

"The lyrics hold a depth, beauty and wisdom rare for a young man of 21." - Kingston This Week.

After a winter / spring season of performances, Wilson returned to Ottawa to perform a memorable show at the National Art Center in April 2006 where he would be named the recipient of CBCs Galaxie Rising Star Award.

As college radio play of the EP begins to catch some wind, Mark Wilson and his recently formed backing band The Last Dinosaur continue to perform and gain attention along the way.
