Marlane Knowles is a Gospel Music Singer/Songwriter whose vision is to spread the Gospel, Love, and Compassion of Jesus Christ through the ministry of music. Her passion is to ensure that people from all walks of life get the opportunity to experience the fullness and presence of the Almighty God. Her purpose is to use her music ministry to bring the lost to Jesus Christ and to build up and encourage those who are already in the faith. Her goal is to make a mark that cannot be erased on all seven continents of the world. Marlane Knowles wants you to be a part of what God is doing through this world-wide vision.
She has been singing since the tender age of five in church choirs, praise teams, and solos more often than anything. Her listeners are often amazed at how God is using her through her singing and songwriting. Marlane has a sound that is often described as therapeutic, anointed, solemn but powerful. When asked about her music style, she answers, "I know that my style is different from the typical black singer, but I have learned to use that as an advantage in reaching all genres of people. People are interested in hearing me because my lyrics relate to their lifestyle and personal testimony. When I sit down to write songs, my style comes out. When I open my mouth to sing, my sound is simple and pure yet riveting and inspiring. It is how God has made me, and I love it. I will always continue to be me and use my gifts for His glory!"
Her influences come mostly from artists like CeCe Winans, Yolanda Adams, Shirley Cesar, and Martha Munizzi.
Marlane holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education and is presently a Trained and Certified Teacher. In spite of her academic achievements, Marlane does admit that her first love and passion is and always will be music.
She is happily married to Pike Knowles and is the mother of two beautiful children. She says, "One of the greatest joys in my life comes from being a family oriented person while still having the flexibility to share the gospel in song to all who would listen."
