   I
have been singing solos in church since I was two. We had a rule in my
house, "NO singing at the dinner table!" because that was the only hour
of peace they'd get :) I Graduated with a BaMu in Classical voice in
2005. While in school, I traveled to Europe with a touring choir, I also
started writing music and put out a little indie recording for the
community at my college.

  After
Grad, I moved to Daegu, S. Korea to teach and get out of debt. I wrote a
TON of music, and performed a show of everything from Opera and
Broadway, to Classic rock, Folk and soul, every Friday night , at a
little fire-hazard downtown. I had a little following, who, almost
certainly didn't understand a word I said, but were LOVELY to play for.

  I
moved back to Calgary in 2008 and started a voice studio to teach all
levels of voice. I was successful, but unfulfilled, so I met a producer
and went to Nashville, where I recorded a three song EP at Sony Tree
Studio. I then moved to Nashville the following summer and stayed until
late spring. My goal in doing this, was to understand the zeitgeist of
the industry, meet and collaborate with amazing people, and take control
moving forward. I met my goals.  It was an invaluable experience.

  In
January, I wrote and recorded the 'roughs' of a new record with Billy
Smiley (White Heart). The music is GREAT and I feel that I have FINALLY
found my genre and place in the musical landscape.  I am
now in talks with enthusiastic investors, here in Alberta. I am on the
cusp of a VERY exciting chapter; bringing all that I have learned back
to my beloved Canadian home to record, market, and tour it across the
country I love!

   While I was
Nashville, I made a lot of AMAZING friends who I will treasure
throughout my life, who just happen to be successful in the music
industry.  It was a time of learning, sometimes the hard way, but, my
goal was the learn the landscape and rhythm of the music industry.  I
knew that I had to stop simply 'taking people's word for it', and become
the 'HBIC' of my own career. I had to become unafraid of hurting
people's egos, and follow what felt organic to me; learn EVERYTHING.

I am thrilled to be at this juncture in my artistic journey.  It
has been extremely hard at times, and I have had offers that would have
given me a comfortable life in other fields, but the compulsion
remains.

  So, here we go!
