In March 2018, Greensboro rapper Marley Pitch was exhausted and ready to give up making music. He outlined his frustration in an email, saying that despite his efforts, no one was paying attention. Greensboro is “not exactly a hub for the arts,” he wrote, before declaring, “I don’t have many options at this point. I don’t wanna die here… that’s a real fear for someone with big dreams and no connections who lives in a town like this.” Pitch isn’t alone; his desperation only highlights what many artists in towns like Greensboro feel when they gaze out from the internet. - Bandcamp
Marley Pitch is careful about choosing his words. Which makes sense. He spends hours crafting lines, writing and editing verses, and eventually rapping and singing his words. He knows that words have a lot of power, and so in conversation he often thinks and rethinks the details of his speech, sometimes pointing out that he intentionally avoids certain words because they seem too strong or not strong enough, or they have weird connotations, or the energy just doesn’t seem right. - Yes Weekly!

Marley Pitch heavily relies on vivid storytelling using surgical wordplay and pop-feeling melodies to share a powerful perspective the world has yet to witness. He began songwriting at the age of eleven while simultaneously honing his natural skills in digital graphic arts was born from a Ghanaian mother and a Zimbabwean and Zambian father in Decatur, Atlanta. Though originally hailing from Atlanta,GA, Marley has spent most of his life in Greensboro NC. Marley started uploading his first recordings in 2010 and has been refining his sound and brand independently since.
