"Marner Brown's Bull set proved they're real deal"

Former support act for Ocean Colour Scene & Babyshambles, indie five piece Marner Brown played an incredible set in the Bull's Soundhouse.
Filling the venue with feedback of a psychedelic nature, they launched into a live performance full of natural stage prowess and an obvious penchant for the old term 'Rock'n'roll'. Effortlessly delivering their own brand of thrashing noise, undeniable talent and sexy, catchy vocals, they kick-started the crowd, who shouted lyrics back at their most famous song, Dirty Weekend.
Highlight Deal with the Devil, was dedicated to the Bull's owner Dave Richards, and offered further proof that these guys are definitely heading towards big things.
Marner Brown are a band who have toured extensively, and Friday night's gig did nothing but show just how musically tight they are.
Also showcasing some new material, Give it Away was a song of true anthem status, with it's slick guitars and obvious Rolling Stones influence.
These Guys are set to release an album some time in the near future, and judging by Friday's incredible set, the release will be hotly anticipated here in Colchester. - Essex Gazette (Hana Barten)

"Marner Brown support Ocean Colour Scene"

"Aaron A Grimes is currently THE best young guitarist in the U.K and Marner Brown are possibly the best support we've ever had" - Quote from Steve Cradock

"Marner Brown play Google HQ"

"Marner Brown came in to our head office as part of the Thank Google It's Friday monthly gigs, following the Scissor Sisters and the reception they got outshone everything that had come before them, top lads as well". - Quote from Alexis Giles, New Buisiness Head at Google

"Marner Brown at Frequency Festival, Austria"

"It was great to see Marner Brown literally from out of no where and 100% unprepared… I’m still blown away and listening to the record over and over… I can’t remember for quite some time me saying this, thus promoting around 200 shows and 90% of all festivals in Austria…" - Quote from Harry Jenner - Head Booker

"Thirteen Rooms Review"

"The tunes are energetic, singer Fiachra has the perfect voice, the right amount of gravel to his thick bluesy vocals. The riffs, tight and punchy and they top them off with big breakout choruses, resulting in a solid reception from the sizeable crowd. Just hate it when bands live up to the hype" - Thirteen Rooms

"Review from The Fly Magazine"

"Marner Brown have the accomplished bluster that only comes from knowing you're totally shit hot at what you are doing. With the same polish and bravado that made Noel Gallagher a millionaire many times over. The result's not lad rock, though, but something more delicate and precious.'" - The Fly

"BBC London Calling Review - Gary Crowley"

"Fiachra Kerrigan's distinct gravelly vocals, backed by some seriously hot guitar playing are putting Marner Brown leaps n bounds ahead of the rest". - BBC London Calling

Bio

The five members of Marner Brown are Fiachra Kerrigan (vocals and guitar), Aaron A. Grimes (lead guitar), John Wildgoose (keys and backing vocals), Jacob Hollebon (bass) and Coz Kerrigan (drums and backing vocals) all born and bred in Richmond (despite bassist Jacob being ‘definitely from space’, according to Fiachra).

At the end of last year the band were approached to write and record the track ‘Open Road’ by Grolsch for their television advert. With this endorsement behind them The Fly magazine said, “The result’s not lad rock, but something more delicate and precious.”

Talking about their favourite and infamous haunt Filthy’s bar in Twickenham, you get a better understanding of the unique bond the band share with not only each other but a mutual passion for music and everything it encompasses.
“‘Filthy’s’ became our second home, we rehearsed upstairs, drank downstairs, top free jukebox, it was the cheapest pint in Twickenham – what more could you want?”

Balancing undeniable song-writing prowess with genuine charm, the band have always demanded attention. Hardworking yet instinctively talented, Fiachra has always had musical ability in the blood. His brother Coz shares the same musical ability, managing to sign to Warner with his former band Larrikin Love having only played drums for six months! In the live setting, lead guitarist Aaron never fails to impress, with glowing praise coming from Ronnie Wood who said the following and offered to sign them on the spot:
“Marner Brown…really good. They had a bit of a Led Zep ‘n’ Roses type thing“.

“Aaron Grimes is currently THE best young guitarist in the UK and Marner Brown are possibly the best support we’ve ever had.” – Steve Cradock, Ocean Colour Scene

That's Marner Brown. They're simply taking the baton of great British no-nonsense guitar bands and running with it. The summer just gone included some top performances at festivals such as Frequency (Austria), Electric Picnic (Ireland) & Guilfest (Surrey) to name but a few.

With their debut album to be released through Pledge Music and negotiations happening with some incredible producers; Marner Brown is truly one band paving the way for the next generation of rock ‘n’ roll.
“Press lining up to lick their collective arse. Don’t you just hate it when a band lives up the hype”. Guilfest Review, Room13.com
