Marqui’s career took a major turn, when a locally syndicated on air personality named Russ Parr of the “Russ Parr Morning Show” (Radio One) was introduced to a parody Marqui wrote for a school project. The Mike Jones song “Still Tippin” was re-created and titled “Still Eatin”. Bio

Marqui Worthy is soon to be music’s newest sensation. Originally from Fayetteville, North Carolina, presently hailing from the Washington, DC suburbs, this middle school age prodigy is an amazing producer, plus writer.
Marqui ‘s love for music began at a very early age. As a child Marqui would use whatever household gadget he could find to create his own music, one in particular, stacking several VHS tapes and pencils as drumsticks to make impressive songs. His father, noticing his love of music, purchased a small Casio keyboard and other small instruments through out his childhood to help nurture his talent. When Marqui entered middle school, his father purchased a Yamaha “Motif 6” keyboard, and with this purchase Marqui’s talent to produce music flourished beyond anyone’s belief. Marqui would produce entire tracks including breaks with lyrical hooks. Inevitably, lyrics came naturally. Marqui’s producing influences range from Pharell of the Neptunes to Timberland and Rodney Jerkins.

Though he's only 13, Marqui is a veteran in the rap and R & B game. Marqui’s performances have included local talent shows and major radio functions. He has been showcased at the 2005 For Sisters Only Convention (Wash D.C convention center), the Russ Bus Grand Finale Tour (Lincoln Theater, Wash D.C), Burger King 3 on 3 Basketball Challenge (Howard University) and the 2005 Increase the Peace Block Party. Most recently one of Marquis’ original songs entitled “My Life” was featured on a local radio exhibition called “Metro Bangers”. This show is modeled as a make it or break it contest which allows listeners to vote on whether to “Kiss it or Diss it”. 90% of the callers voted to KISS IT!

The time is right for Marqui to take his place in the spot light. Children no longer have anyone they can claim as their own. Lil Bow Wow is not little anymore and Lil Romeo, well you get the picture. Most importantly Marqui, unlike Lil Bow Wow and Lil Romeo, has produced and written all his own material, with the exception of the track provide by “Still Tippin”. Marqui’s productions are “multi-diverse” in character allowing him to transcend any musical boundaries, this making him easily marketable. Marqui will inspire a new generation to look at music in a totally new way. Showing kids they can too become musical composers. Marqui is well on his way to becoming one of music’s hottest pre-teen sensations
