MarQui

MarQui, born A’Donte’ Marqui McDaniel, performs under the stage name “MarQui”, is the next R&B singing sensation… This young man is truly gifted and will blow you away with his rare, smooth singing voice. Brought up in the churches of Tacoma, Washington, he can call upon that sound that you only get from singing gospel to make the ladies swoon.

MarQui has been surrounded by music since birth. By age 5, he could be seen pulling out his grandmother’s pots and pans for drums, and using two wooden spoons for drumsticks, beating the pans until it drove everyone crazy in the house. Later, his family adoringly adopted him “Monkey Loc Shabba” due to the fact that he loved a popular musician of the nineties, Shabba Ranks and could also be found climbing and dancing all over stuff in the house. In addition to Shabba Ranks, he also credits, like most, the great late Michael Jackson as a major influence in his musical life.
Though he is relatively new to the game, (he found his voice at the age of seventeen), don’t let that fool you. This young man knows his music, just ask all the people who became fans after hearing his MySpace hit single “Freek Nasty.” In addition to his talent as a singer, Marqui also makes his own music and beats, can play the drums as well as being a phenomenal songwriter.
