Born Brandon Marquis Govens on january 2nd 1991 in Colorado Springs grew up in a military home. As a child his mother was a inspiring singer and him and his younger brother would go with her to the studio often. His love for music grew more and more the older he got when he began to write songs in the 5th grade for girls he had crushes on. People began to acknowledge his talent as a singer. In 8th grade his talent evolved as he began to write love songs with a meaning behind it due to his recent relationships and began to craft his talent more. He continued to write songs throughout his highschool career not really taken it too serious but mainly focusing on graduating. Once he graduated in 2009 Marquis began to evolve more with his music by joining a group of friends in which was called Slaughta Squad. Although when he first started out he was not the best Marquis worked hard to get recognition out of his group. Being the second member in his group to drop his first mixtape “First Round Draft Pick” late 2010. Gaining a buzz off of his single “Drip Drop” Marquis began to do shows in his home city of columbia. As his buzz grew it then began to instantly slip away as he faced hardships in 2011. But now back in action Marquis with his second mixtape titled “2 Official” which dropped june of 2012 and his 2nd single “Shawty Wuz Up” is ready to takeover the streets and show the world he is surely to be the next biggest star.
