"Married By Elvis' New Video"

Married By Elvis who I wrote about a couple weeks ago, just released their new video for their song “Longneck Gamble“. I’m such a fan of lead singer Julia Garlington’s voice. It’s got a great California sound to it, and unlike so many other voices you hear coming to Nashville now days, is completely unique. They also have really good songs and can easily go 3 or 4 singles deep in support of their new album, aptly titled, Better Late Than Never.

The band themselves actually moved here to Nashville not many months ago, picked up a new guitar player (who brings a real dynamic to the other players) and started practicing for shows. The show I saw at 3rd & Lindsley was really good, and it’s a shame that more people didn’t make it out to see it for themselves - but hopefully the next time they play in town, they’ll have a bigger reception.
This video, like most of the videos featured on NashvilleHype! was shot and directed by our good friend Glenn Sweitzer. - Nashville HYPE - Paul King

In Fall of '07, Married By Elvis released their much anticipated debut album, Better Late Than Never.
Ten of the eleven tracks featured on the CD were co-written by MBE's frontwoman, Julia Garlington, who also served as the album's producer. They are just about to launch a national digital release of the album on iTunes, etc..

In Spring of '08, MBE was honored to be featured in FIRE RELIEF - a compilation CD benefitting the victims of the 2007 San Diego wildfires. The CD includes tracks from other notable San Diego artists such as Switchfoot, Angels & Airwaves, Greg Laswell, AJ Croce, and Tristan Prettyman. Born from the union of sassy lead singer Julia Garlington and bass player Dan Herzberg in 2001 - at Sin City's Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel...
Married By Elvis is a spitfire band known for a sound that blends country and rock & roll with a peppering of SoCal flavor.

The group relocated from San Diego to Nashville, TN, in March of 2008, and is already tearing up clubs and festivals throughout the sweet south.

Recent South of the Mason-Dixon Line performance highlights include: Kansas's Country Stampede (along the likes of Sugarland, Rascal Flatts, & Little Big Town), Iowa's HAYSTOCK, the Arkansas State Fair, Manuel's Birthday Bash (THE Country Couture King) & Rhinestone Cure Benefit and frequent shows at Nashville's premier music venues -3rd & Lindsley and 12th & Porter.

Back in San Diego, MBE was the official 2007 house band for KSON - San Diego's # 1 Country Radio Station, playing numerous special events around town as well as performing their own original tunes ON-AIR!! (Pretty amazing considering it's a Clear Channel station!)

Additionally, MBE has opened shows for national touring artists such as Blake Shelton, Cross Canadian Ragweed and Shooter Jennings and has been featured on NBC, FOX, KUSI and in San Diego Union-Tribune’s STREET, 944 magazine, San Diego Magazine, Southern California's WANT magazine (Julia was one of their top 10 So Cal bombshells!), Nashville HYPE and Living In Style magazine…just to name a few!
