Bio
MARS is a relatively new
band. It was created in April of
2006 in an empty hall of
Griboedov club in St. Petersburg.
By that time, creators of the
band had huge experience and
music biz knowledge behind
their shoulders: bass player,
guitarist and the drummer came
from Kolybel band, who was
performing on stadiums before
20.000 people crowd, several
times toured Hungary, Armenia,
Ukraine and performed on the
main stage of SZIGET festival
on one stage with David Bowie,
Cardigans and Faith No More.
The singer, in her turn, came
from famous folk band Iva-
Nova, who’s very successfull and
well known both in Russia and
abroad, playing at folk festivals
and clubs all over Europe.
Such mixture brought truly
unique sound of MARS...
The very first studio
record of MARS, consisting
of 5 songs was heard far
away from home. Very
soon after the
songs were placed on
MySpace, the band was
contacted by Junkie Style
Records, an independent
Japanese record label, who
suggested releasing an EP,
intended especially for
Japanese market. Thus, in the
end of 2008, the EP was
released.
