"Review of the Marshall White & The Regiment EP"

“Supple gritty rock n’ roll that’s solid all the way around. White’s somewhere between Aaron Lewis wail and Eddie Vedder richness… White’s voice is deep and strong and full of conviction, and the band is rock solid rock n’ roll… Damn fine.” - Devon Jackson

Bio

Marshall White & The Regiment blend rock, old-school country and blues into what can only be described as “Modern American Rock.” They call upon the sounds of Waylon Jennings and Pearl Jam before getting whiskey bent with Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Devon Jackson of Rolling Stone/The Village Voice/Entertainment Weekly had this to say about Kansas City native Marshall White's release, "Marshall White & The Regiment EP; “Supple gritty rock n’ roll that’s solid all the way around. White’s somewhere between Aaron Lewis wail and Eddie Vedder richness… White’s voice is deep and strong and full of conviction, and the band is rock solid rock n’ roll… Damn fine.”

Two of his earlier albums were recorded with the band Tripwire, at Chapman Recording Studios in Kansas City, MO, one of which, with Grammy Award winning engineer Aaron Connor. Upon graduation from Kansas State University, Marshall packed his things and made his way from Manhattan, Kansas to Manhattan, NY. Marshall went on to become the front man of the hard rock band Lost Revolution and blazed across the club circuit paying dues. Lost Revolution recorded their first album at Threshold Studios in Times Square and later went on to record an EP at Portrait Studios in Pompton Plains, New Jersey with Gold Record winning sound engineer and producer, Chris Badami.

With his new project, Marshall White & The Regiment, (Martin Lowe: Drums and Percussion, Andy Averbuch: Lead Guitar and Backing Vocals, Jason Liles: Bass and Backing Vocals) in full swing, Marshall reconnected with Badami to record a new EP and took the opportunity to bring it all back to his roots. “I needed to do a project where I had the freedom to record any song without consequence. I didn’t worry about what genre it fell into, I just wanted to put it all out there and let the cards fall where they may.”

Marshall White & The Regiment are currently putting the finishing touches on the new EP "Bloodshot, Damned and Weary" to be released in May 2013. Look for them to support this record in and around the Northeast U.S.
