Bio

Following a successful visit to the Montreal Jazz Festival,
This 15 piece Israeli Brass Band is now heading towards
their 2009 Tour.

Marching straight out of Jerusalem, "Marsh Dondurma" is on the move. This Israeli Brass Band formed just three years ago has been raving Israel ever since. Be it street parties, parades, clubs or venues, they have made their mark almost everywhere, leaving dancing feet behind them anywhere they go.
The band is a community of 15 musicians, combining brass, reeds and percussion. On stage or on the street, Marsh Dondurma delivers its unique combination of original compositions and ethno music with great passion, energy and joy.
"… Only one band in Israel looks and sounds like that: Marsh Dondurma.
In these past three years, Marsh Dondurma has lost none of its exciting dynamics and bursting energy and on the stage of "Levontin 7" [Tel Aviv] it proved that there is no conflict between these qualities and qualities such as clever compositions and complex arrangements… the groove draws the body into the music and the sophistication keeps the ear fascinated throughout the entire piece."

This summer, Marsh Dondurma performed at the Montreal Jazz Festival and at the NYC "Zebulon". In 2006, the band took part of the Guca Trumpet Festival in Serbia, and also played different venues in Belgrade and Budapest. In Israel, the band performs regularly in various music clubs around the country and has also taken part of the renowned Israel Festival, the Akko International Theater Festival, the Bat-Yam Street Art Festival and many more.
Following the success of their debut album, "Marsh Dondurma", in 2005, they have now released their second studio album, "New Flavors" (Te'amim Hadashim), making way for exploration of new musical ideas and old traditions. In their repertoire, Marsh Dondurma combine traditional ethnic music from around the world with their own original tunes expanding these influences towards Jazz and Funk. They leave no one out, playing gypsy traditions, Jewish klezmer, Latin beats, Middle Eastern tunes and more.

"…When they lock onto a groove the outcome is irresistible"
