I am an italian jazz singer who fell in love with music at the age of 12 with the help of my father that is a great rock guitarist,so I grew up listening to Genesis,Led Zeppelin,Weather Report,Deep Purple,Jimi Hendrix,Beatles,Rolling Stones,etc...
I studied and collaborated with many incredible jazz musicians from all over the world,and everyone left something in my heart.I started to sing jazz standards because of Ella Fitzgerald,Dinah Washington,Sarah Vaughan,Carmen McRae,Anita O'Day,Billie Holiday,Betty Carter,Cassandra Wilson,Kurt Elling,Mark Murphy inspired me with their wonderful voices and then I discovered that there was more than I expected in this music...there was Freedom,so I started to compose my own original music with this idea of freedom,out of any rules to find myself.Music comes to me from every part of the world,I have a lot of influences from jazz to brazilian,Antonio Carlos Jobim,Caetano Veloso,Joao Gilberto,Chico Buarque,Vinicius De Moraes,Gal Costa,Elis Regina,Maria Bethania,and also I love the Cuban Songwriter Silvio Rodriguez,and what can I say about Mercedes Sousa or Astor Piazzola and the great Tango history? and I like to put all of them together to find my voice.
My band is my family,great musicians and lovely guys which I can share my thoughts,my feelings and my soul,and I am a very lucky girl. Usually the band is composed by voice ,piano,double bass ,drums and sax or trumpet.
